AN: I promise I am still working on The Guardian. However, after watching the live-action Cinderella this week (and fangirling over Richard Madden) I came up with this short one-shot. We see Talisa and Robb meeting from Robb's POV. But what about Talisa's?
I do not own Game of Thrones or the Song of Ice and Fire. If I did, Robb would still be alive and Cersei would be dead.
Oh and my theory for Jon's parents is...R+L=J.
Please R&R!
Love on a Battlefield
Talisa Maegyr was moving across the Westerlands, eventually hoping to reach Casterly Rock when the party she was traveling with heard of an attack by Northerners. She took a couple of the other healers with her and headed back, knowing that there were going to be injuries.
It only took them half a day to reach where the battle had taken place and Talisa was amazed at all the injuries, even though she was been a nurse since she left Volantis. She started to treat soldiers she came upon, regardless of what banner was on their cloaks or what fallen banners were nearby. They all thanked her, some begged the Mother for her mercy, others asked Talisa for mercy, begging her to kill them and end their suffering. She just smiled and said that they would be alright.
As she walked through closer to what looked like the center of the battle, she noticed two main banners. One was red and gold, not really surprising since the Lannisters held sway in the Westerlands and most of Westeros. The other banner however was grey and white, which meant the Starks had crossed the river and were marching south. Talisa had heard the rumors that the Lord Eddard Stark was guilty and treason and killed by the boy king, Joffery. Apparently that was enough to send the Northerners south. She heard a man scream and noticed a young man holding another down, looking around for help. She ran over and examined the man lying down, noticing that his leg was injured and would need to be removed. The other man wanted to leave because he was on the other side and didn't think that the man would want help. She told him that if she didn't cut his leg off, he would die, and another death would be on his mind. She knew who the young man was. The Young Wolf is what they called Robb Stark. A name given because whenever he went into battle, his grey direwolf was never far from his side. Some even said he took over his wolf and killed while still in his wolf. She didn't care what the rumors said. She needed help and Robb Stark would have to do.
After showing him where to put his hands so she could cut through his leg properly, she quickly went to work, finishing as fast as she possibly could. Once she finished, Robb ran his hands through his black curly hair and smiled. Talisa was shocked. She didn't think that he would care about who lived and who died on the battlefield. As the cart came around to pick up the wounded, he told her that the soldier was lucky she was there.
She smiled, saying that the soldier was unlucky that he had met Robb. Talisa, on the other hand, hoped to see much more of him soon.
