Hellllooooo! So, for those of you from Fixing the Past, I am so sorry that I had to end that book. It was causing me too much stress to deal with, especially so close to my final exams and so I decided to move on in the series. This picks up where FTP would have finished, once they had completed the movie. I love the concept of this too much to completely abandon the series so I hope you guys stick with me throughout the (somewhat) next instalment.
For those of you that are new around here, welcome. The concept of this book is that Auradon have just witnessed what really happened to Aurora (based on the Maleficent (2014) movie). My first book in the series which I discontinued was them watching the movie and reacting. This is where I fix everything after the movie.
If you do enjoy this first piece, make sure you let me know because as I'm sure you know, writing takes a long time and if no-ones interested, I should really be focusing on my exams, so I won't keep writing. Enjoy!
The screen closed to black, ending the show that had kept many captivated throughout. The next thing on everyone's mind was what was going to happen now.
People had missing memories and false ones implanted. Who had been the one to implant them? Why had Maleficent been convicted of her 'crimes'?
Leah was beginning to look more and more nervous as her dark eyes kept flickering around her, seeing if anyone was looking her way. The majority of people were not looking her way, to engrossed in their own private discussions with those around them, trying to figure out what had happened.
It was Fairy Godmother (FG) that called everyone to order.
"Ok, everyone," She called. "I know that a lot of you are confused as to what happened here, as am I, but panicking is not going to find us a solution. If everyone could settle down, we can start to work this out." As it was FG talking people began to settle down speedily, for fear of being shushed by the good fairy.
Mal, who hadn't said much throughout the beginnings of chaos, turned to look at her mother. She had been silent for a while now and seemed to be lost in deep thought. The purplette was one of the few that actually knew what had happened that led to her being placed onto the Isle of the Lost and it was not a pleasant tale to hear.
As if sensing her daughter's gaze, Maleficent raised her almost identical green eyes to meet Mal's and the pair, to an outsider, appeared to have a private conversation. It ended when Maleficent broke the gaze and turned to study the wall next to her. The younger girl slumped into her chair a little.
Grumpy, one of the seven dwarfs, was the one to call out, "Well what's happened here? Clearly, something is wrong. Either we have the wrong memories or someone's made a whole other tale and fed it to us to cause a panic. So which is it?"
FG herself didn't know what was going on. Thankfully, whatever had brought them to wherever they were had allowed her to keep her wand and therefore her magic. With a quick swish of the wand and a 'Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo' and it was like the damn was broken.
Thick streams of red, green and blue tinged magic began to rise from every individual in the room, including FG herself. The select few that weren't affected included Maleficent, Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay.
Those who were affected became stiff, their eyes became blank. As soon as the magic stopped, which seemed to take longer than it actually did, they quickly came to their senses, wide eyed. The occupants had enough time to see the magic swirl in the air, seemingly trying to find something before making its way over to Queen Leah. Said Queen was wide eyed, staring her gaze once again darting amongst people as the (majority) confused and (minorly) angry looks began to stare right back at her as people began to work out what had happened.
Those who knew what had happened gasped in horror. There were two individuals that didn't make any movement. Maleficent was too busy thinking everything through now that everyone knew the truth. What was going to happen to her? Her daughter? They could do whatever they wanted to her, but her daughter was her daughter and the only thing that was left connecting her to him. She had fought so much already and Maleficent wouldn't let anything happen again.
Aurora was also silent, trying to work her way through the memories she had been faced with. They were a lot more overwhelming for her as she had more memories that had been blocked and replaced. Her real memories and the fake ones were battling each other for dominance, but the truth always wins and those were the memories that stuck. As each memory came to the surface, Aurora was a swirl of emotions, anger, disgust, fear, happiness, joy, excitement.
"Queen Leah," Beast called out as he was the current ruler of Auradon. People easily turned their attention to him as they heard him speak. "You are hereby condemned to your living quarters under the order of the high crown until your fate can be decided for your actions that have been displayed here tonight."
Remember to let me know what you thought, maybe see you next time!
