It was almost 7pm. The winter sky was dark and the building empty, apart from themselves. They were both finishing up reports. He walked into her office with his usual confident swagger and stopped a few metres before her desk. She looked up, curiously, waiting for him to say something. Instead he just watched her. She got out of her chair and walked towards him, studying him as he tilted his head curiously at her. She saw the hint of a smile creep up upon his face. They stood an arm's length away from each other.

He watched her blue eyes, the quirk of her lips, the way she held herself. Her hair was tied up in a low pony tail, a few strands hanging loose. She looked amused. They stood like this for a minute longer until he finally spoke. "I got a call from a friend who's in a spot of bother. I'm catching the next flight to Phoenix." She nodded, still curious, watching his body language. "Uh, and I'll probably be back in a week." She nodded again. "And I just wanted to try something." She didn't nod this time. She just watched as he looked at her lips with desire in his eyes. He took a step closer; they were just centimetres away from each other now. He leaned in and tilted his head, eyes closed, and gently his lips brushed against her hers.

Her gaze fell to the ground as she felt a warmth, that started from his lips, spread through her body. He put his arms around her waist. Closing her eyes, she felt her lips part and move with his own. She wrapped her arm around his neck. Slowly he broke away from the kiss and they let go of each other. He watched as she looked up at him. Instead of studying her in his usual fashion, he simply kissed her on the cheek and turned to walk away. She finally spoke. "I'll see you when you get back, Cal."

He turned, revealing a half smile. "Not if I see you first." And with that he left her feeling stunned and wanted, standing alone in her office.
