"Hey, Mikasa, who's she?" Eren asks his dark-haired friend. She looks over. "Oh, that's Julia. She's lethal. There are so many stories about her. One in particular says she's insane." Mikasa answers.

"Hmm." Eren wonders, before getting up and walking over. "Eren! Don't! She'll pulverise you!" Armin shouts. Unbeknownst to the three, she was listening.

He stands there, above her. "Hey, I'm" He starts. "Eren. I know, I was listening." She stands. She looks him up and down. "You've got a lot of untapped potential. I bet, if you joined my squad, you'd be top of the class in no time." She proposes.

The mouths of the graduated cadets drop open. "She's never bothered to take anyone on as her apprentice. Maybe she sees herself in him or something like that. To have a lot of untapped potential is a compliment." Sasha says.

Julia walks down the hallway, rounding a corner, soon reaching what she knows is Levi's office door. She knocks. "Come in." Is heard from inside.

She opens the door and walks inside, head slightly lowered to hide the insane look in her eyes and smirk on her face.

"Levi. I'm going to move Eren from you're squad to mine. The kid's got a lot of untapped potential." She says.

Levi slowly looks up at her. "Why?" Is all he asks. She stares at him, her dark eyes narrowing. He slowly shrinks in his seat.

"Okay. He can join your squad." He says. She smirks, turning and walking to the door, opening it and leaving, after closing the door.

She heads back to her room, where after closing and locking the door, slumps on the floor, head back against the wood. Her tired eyes stare at nothing. She sits up, pulling her knees in.

She starts crying, remembering her family's agonizing deaths. 'Sam… Mom… Dad… Why did you have to leave me so early?' She wonders, her tear-stained cheeks glistening.

She looks out the window, lifting three fingers, pressing them to her lips, turning and extending them, towards the sky. 'Goodbye, Sam, Mom, Dad. I hope you're happy up there.' She thinks.

"Julia." A voice from behind her makes her jump. She whirls around. "Sam? Mom? Dad?" She whispers, hesitantly reaching out.

Sam steps forward. "Yes. It's us." She starts shaking. "You've come to visit me…" She cries, smiling. The family of four hug.

"We can't stay for long, though. Spend the time we have together carefully." Her father warns. She nods, "I will. I've missed you."

Cancer had taken her sister first, followed by her mother, who's cancer had come back to claim her. Lastly, it was her father who fell in an accident.

Heartbroken and mind-shattered by her family's deaths, she slowly sank into insanity. She'd been insane long before they'd fallen, but she'd hidden it.

During the training with Eren, she actually saw herself in him. He'd witnessed his mother getting eaten and father die.

"Eren. That was amazing! But I need to tell you something. It's about my family." She says, pulling him up. "What happened?" He asks.

"It was a long time ago. I was only ten. My sister, who was twelve, had her soul claimed by cancer. My mother followed. My father fell in an accident. I'm the only one remaining alive. Sooner or later, I'll be claimed. So, please, spend my last days with me by my side. My aunts and uncles all shared the same fate as my family. Cancer or accidents." She explains.
