A/N - A little post 'Real World' story I came up with while I was bored. I was actually trying to write a different story, but this popped up. It's also because of the scene from 'Real World' after John takes hold of Elizabeth's arm, I always wondered whether John saw the little scene in the corridor.

Hope you all like it!

Please read and review.

"I saw you…" John murmured, not really intending for her to hear. Standing beside him, Elizabeth looked over.

"What?" she asked.

"I saw you," he repeated, turning away from the balcony railing.

"What do you mean?" Elizabeth enquired, puzzled.

"When you were in the coma and I broke quarantine," John replied. Elizabeth tipped her head to the side slightly.

"Of course you saw me. I was lying right–" she started. John shook his head sharply.

"No," he cut her off, "When I grabbed your arm to try to bring you out of it, I could see what the replicators were showing you," he explained. Elizabeth's eyes widened slightly.

"What did you see?" she asked softly. John looked back out to the ocean.

"I saw you standing in the middle of a corridor; General O'Neill at one end, SFs at the other. I just… I just wanted so much to grab your hand and pull you away from there," he replied.

There was silence as they both looked out over the water that surrounded them. Elizabeth was the one to break the silence.

"I saw you…" she murmured. John turned to look at her.

"You did?" he asked. She looked at him.

"All the time. The replicators always made the image look threatening – behind a door or pushing against a plastic screen. I didn't realise it was you at all, but I realised it was trying to help when it came into my room. It… It was frightening at first, I'll admit," Elizabeth explained. John nodded in sympathy.

"It was frightening here too… I thought - we thought - that we were gonna lose you," he said.

Elizabeth and John just stood, gazing at each other before John decided to be bold and pull her into a hug. Elizabeth was slightly startled before smiling and relaxing, resting her head on his shoulder.

She sighed, relieved, and spoke softly, "Thank you for bringing me back."

"You're welcome," John replied, "I'm so glad we didn't lose you," he added quietly. Elizabeth smiled and was about to reply when Rodney came blustering through the door.

"Oh… Sorry to interrupt," he apologised, seeing them. John and Elizabeth shared a look, the latter rolling her eyes and speaking up as they broke apart.

"It's called a hug, Rodney," she said.

"Right. Anyway, I need you to see something, Elizabeth," he said, walking back out the doors he entered through. As they followed John caught Elizabeth's hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze. They shared a grin before going in separate directions.
