Roger and Jill Meet the Babies

"They are so precious." Jill said in complete awe as she held both of her new grandsons.

Just as promised Nick's parents had arrived the very next day to meet them for the first time.

Everyone else had gone home for a bit to give Roger and Jill some alone time with the new bundles.

"Hey Jilly, there are two babies, could I maybe hold one of them?" Roger asked his wife with a slight chuckle as they sat on the couch in Jackie's hospital room.

"No." Was her simple answer.

Nick, Jackie, and Roger laughed.

"Is that the way you are going to be when we have grandkids one day?" Nick asked Jackie, as he sat next to her on her hospital bed with his arm lightly draped around her shoulders.

"Yes, I'm sure." Jackie said with a smile.

Nick chuckled.

"So you guys, we know that baby A is Ryan Matthew but what is this little cutie pie's name?" Jill asked.

"Well actually mom, we changed Ryan's name just a bit, he's still a Ryan but his middle name is not Matthew, it's Leander."

Tears immediately welled in both of his parents' eyes.

"Thank you." Jill mouthed, not even able to speak.

"She would be honored, thank you both." Roger told his son and daughter-in-law, thinking of the their daughter who had not so long ago been killed in a car accident.

Nick and Jackie smiled at them.

"And baby B's name is Boone Matthew." Nick told them.

"I like that, you don't hear that every day." Roger said.

"Thanks." Nick and Jackie told them.

"What would the name have been had he been a girl?" Jill asked curiously.

"Nora Leanne." Jackie told her.

"Nora, really?" Jill asked.

"Yep, don't you like it?" Jackie asked.

"I love Nora, had Nick been a girl his name would have been Nora." Jill said.

"Did you know that?" Jackie asked Nick.

"No." Nick said.

"What would his middle name have been?" Jackie asked.

"Colleen, after his great grandmother." Jill answered.

"That's pretty." Jackie stated.

"Thanks."

"Well honey, maybe one day we'll have a Nora." Nick told Jackie with a playful smile.

"No we won't." Jackie assured him.

Nick, Roger, and Jill all laughed at her.

"So Jackie when do you guys get to go home?" Jill asked.

"The day after tomorrow."

"That's good."

"Yeah, I wish it was tomorrow, I feel good enough to go but rules are rules."

Jill smiled at her.

Suddenly one of the babies started to fuss in Jill's arms.

"It's alright sweet little one." Jill cooed at him.

"He's probably hungry." Jackie said as she looked at the clock on the wall.

"I'll be out in the waiting room." Roger said suddenly as he stood up.

Everyone was confused by his sudden desire to leave but finally Jackie burst out laughing.

"No, Roger, with a bottle, it's ok, you can stay." Jackie assured him.

"Oh, ok." He said as he sat back down on the couch.

"Here, you hold this one, and I'll feed him." Jill said as she finally handed one of the babies to Roger.

Roger smiled as he gently rocked the sleeping infant in his arms, happy that he finally got a turn to hold one of them.

Nick quickly made a bottle and then handed it to his mother so she could feed the upset little one.

The second the baby was given the bottle he calmed down.

"Just to be sure, I have Boone right?" Jill asked Nick.

"Yes, he's the one with no hair, that's the easiest way to not get them confused, although they really look nothing alike at all."

"I know, I just think that is so funny." Jill told him.

"So did Jackie and I." Nick agreed with a smile.

Jill and Roger smiled at their son and then stared down at the babies.

The new grandparents were thrilled to have two new baby boys to love and spoil rotten!

The End!
