Disclaimer: I don't own Alex & Izzie. I wish I did.

Izzie's and Alex's feelings runs so deep that everyone's able to see it. It's funny how two people could love each other so much and ignore it all at the same time.

As she crawled into bed, Izzie dreamed watching herself as if in those black and white movies. Images and thoughts of Alex and herself goes through her head. She sees them in this fairy tale, which seems so foolish. But then, dreams never do seem to make any sense. She's watching herself recounting every minute of each scene, step by step. There is a struggle of their feelings they are trying to keep to themselves. She tries to listen carefully, but can't hear him, there are no sound of his words coming out of his mouth. She's watching everything in slow motion.

The vision is blurred by the sudden presence of her tears. In her dream, she cries in his arms. He wipes the tears away. She's never known to read lips but, she tries to decipher the formation of his lips.

"This is how it could be for you and me. This is how our life should be. We're together at last," he tells her.

The dream ends with her waking up suddenly, tears drenched on her pillow. Izzie sits up in bed screaming her lungs out, wishing to never awaken, wanting to relive it over and over again. She cries and wishes it is nightfall, to dream away and to watch this 21st century version of a silent movie.

It is New Year's Eve, she sits alone in the darkened living room on her sofa as she had done on christmas eve, the only light is coming out of the television set as she watches Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve from Time's Square in New York, waiting for the ball to drop. Another new year approaching, off with the old, on with the new and hopes her dream of Alex would finally come true.

It is five minutes to midnight, her doorbell rings. "No, it can't be," she pinches herself.

He walks into her living room, grabs her hand gently. She hears the countdown on television. "10...9...8...7...6..."

"Kiss me at midnight," he says. "5...4...3...2...1." He pulls her into him and tenderly kisses her.

"Happy New Year," he tells her. "Whatever your dreams, I hope they are beautiful."

"My dreams are of you," she whispers.

The End.
