A/N: So I borrowed seasons 1 to 4 of (the new) Doctor Who from my parents and just finished watching them when this bolt of inspiration struck me as I was removing the DVD from the player and I actually went so far as to say "one truly is the loneliest number" as once again our poor doctor was on his own and I got to thinking... it's a whole lot of 'ones' that make up the whole... and came up with this sort of cross between poetry and ficlet...
Did I plan it? No.. but like the Doctor says... It's more fun that way!
-ONE-
One living ship, TARDIS, to traverse time and space
One Time War to change the universe
One enemy who wants only conquest
One Timelord who escaped while all the rest were lost
One love to heal two hearts filled with anger
One day when everyone lived!
One girl who looked where even Timelords mustn't
One Captain who is now 'wrong'
One Time Vortex restored
One hand severed on Christmas
One past companion who waited for him
One loyal K-9 a dog made of tin
One impossible planet orbiting a Black Hole
One entity that challenges beliefs
One enemy who hid in the space between spaces
One Rose sealed away into a Parallel Universe
One 'Runaway Bride' who told him to stop
One Doctor-in-training who kept her cool
One secret from one who was millennia old
One fog-watch re-discovered and the sound of drums
One planet, one thought, at the one time 'doctor'
One then once again the last of his kind
One companion who walked away willingly
One companion who had been there before
One prophesy from a hive mind
One right turn where it should have been left
One reality in crisis brings old friends all together
One halted regeneration to heal not to change
One severed hand with help grows a new doctor
One companion onto which everyone's time lines converge
One human-timelord metacrisis that cannot be
One Doctor-Donna as was predicted
One Dalek Caan who made it all happen
One Human=Doctor with one heart for Rose
One that will never be forgotten but can never be allowed to remember
One timelord and his TARDIS once again on their own
One truly is the lonliest number..
..But without all the ones to be drawn together, how can there ever be many?
A/N: So love it? Hate it? Tell me all about it! I love hearing what people think!
