We were trusted to defend and protect the innocent. We were born of tubes from a single strand of DNA from the most ruthless bounty hunter of the galaxy. We fought and won thousands of wars against the CIS through any world we encountered. But when Order 66 was issued, the walls came thundering down around our allies.
I remember. I remember the waves of endless droids disembarking from the CIS command ships as they rushed at us with everything they could bring. My men were ready, equipped for mass destruction as we rushed into battle. The blaster bolts flew through the air and into the metal chassis of the enemy as they went down into a giant scrap pile. It was our job, we knew nothing more than what we were told. What we were ordered to do.
About halfway through, when the droids were retreating my holocomunicator signaled an incoming message; and a familiar face came into view.
"Execute Order 66"
He had shown up once before, we'd been told to obey his commands. I remember how ancient he looked, his wrinkles deep in the furrows of his skin and his face always unsmiling in a permanent scowl. His voice was deep and scratchy, but never did we see his eyes, that was left up to our imaginations.
"It will be done, my lord."
We'd loaded our weapons, stopping behind the Jedi as he turned around. An alien, green skin and a pulled face that only twisted in confusion as we raised our weapons. His blue blade swung around and with a sickening slap struck deep into our armor as he deflected our bullets and cut us up... all but me. With nobody to slaughter, he turned the blue blade on me and attempted to take my trigger hand, I'd swung to the side and caught the side of his head with the butt of my rifle. With the Force as they called it, he'd thrown my body down and I'd lost my gun across the floor. With a smile he lifted me again and forced me toward him, blade eagerly awaiting. With my training I put one at him like a snake striking and he deflected it. I threw a thermal at him, he rolled aside and I'd shot at him again, catching his leg as he fell to the ground groaning but got up once more and leaped at me. Under him I'd rolled again and kicked out sending him on his face, only to stand once more. Jedi were resilient, I'd give them that. The humming of his saber came at my face, and even with my timing the hot blade had struck me like a punch. The burning heat from it caused me to yell and cut a ridge into my helmet and almost severed my cheek. I could hear the blade come back as I ducked and shot at him again, he only continued at me, getting closer with that blade. Like a flash he rushed forward and swung at me again, quickly I reacted and caught him in the chin with my blaster, then fired off a couple shots into his skull. With a groan I heard his last breath rattle in his throat, his lightsaber disengaged and he fell to the ground, leaving me in utter silence.
That was my first experience with a Jedi.
