A/N: This is a fluffy and pointless(don't forget stupid) one shot about Ernie and Hannah Part 1 of my Mistletoe chronicles. So expect more Mistletoe and odd pairings soon I hope they are better than this!
"Are you going anywhere for break?" Hannah Abbott asked her best friend Ernie Macmillan.
"Yes," he answered as he waved to Zacharias Smith, "I'm going home. I hope we do something different this year," he sighed, "I hate my Grandpa Rick. What about you, are doing anything?"
"I'm going home. Father says it's going to be rough since this is our first Christmas without her…" her voice started to break. Ernie put a friendly arm around her shoulders.
"It'll be alright," he reassured her, "I promise I'll write everyday." She gave him a watery smile.
"Thanks Ernie," she replied shyly.
"No problem." He replied.
Ernie looked at his friend thinking about how much she had changed since he first met her. Her golden blonde hair was no longer worn in pigtails instead it fell down to the middle of her back. He remembered how her dark blue eyes used to shine but now they were dull. It seemed that once her mother died a part of Hannah died with her. But Ernie was always there for her, no matter what.
He loved her he realized when she left last year. He was going to tell her, soon. Before they get out school, maybe once they graduate, they could move in together that is if they survive this war.
An annoying cackle broke through his thoughts. "Peeves!" he groaned, he went to walk forward and couldn't move.
"Uh Ernie," Hannah pointed up…Mistletoe.
"Aww!" cooed Peeves mockingly, "two cuddly Hufflepuff underneath the mistletoe."
Hannah was feeling mixed emotions: embarrassment mostly but excitement and anticipation. How long she's wished for Ernie to kiss her. She might actually thank Peeves later…
Finally the moment had come, he leaned forward, she closed her eyes and he kissed her. He really kissed her she was in shock but soon kissed him in return. He pulled away.
"I really like you Hannah," he said.
"I really like you too Ernie." She replied her eyes sparkling. Then she looked up at the laughing Poltergeist, "Thank you Peeves!" she added cheerfully
The End!
