For Gilbert
By: Kit Yami
A lost child I was,
Awoken in a flaming world,
Surrounded by blood and death.
You took my hand,
You taught me well,
You made me grow into a man.
Standing in front of me,
You came to my side,
I took over the throne,
But you never left me behind.
As time wore on and things changed,
The visions of your splendor never began to fade.
I took your ideals and made them mine,
I grew up strong to make you proud.
I never thought it would be my strength to hurt you,
As I grew stronger I didn't see them taking you,
I didn't see anything until it was too late.
You protected me from harm,
I should have protected you,
They stole you away and broke you.
When I finally got you back you had changed,
No longer were you invincible.
Now time is going on and you begin to fade.
Please don't leave me again, I need you.
Please time; let me have my brother,
For he is the only one with my heart.
Please world don't take the one I love again.
