A short but sweet story for Simone Robinson. Happy Birthday! :)
She wanted a fluffy Mikey story (Okay she didn't ask for one for her birthday but here it is anyway).
Clouds
The little sea green turtle bounded into Splinter's arms and uncurled his little fist to reveal a small ball of white fluff.
"What is this, my son?"
"It's a cloud!"
Master Splinter looked from the little turtle to the cotton wool and blinked - a twinkle in his deep, black eyes.
"A cloud? However did you get so high above as to catch a cloud, Michaelangelo?"
The young turtle shook his head vigorously and grinned, "I didn't have to go anywhere, 'cause the cloud came to me!"
Master Splinter sat the turtle on his knee, his eyes smiling curiously at his youngest, "How did you get him to come to you?"
"I don't know!" His blue eyes widened as far as they'd go in wonder, "I was just minding my own business and thinking about how if I had any superpower ever in the whole wide world I'd want to fly and I'd totally have a cape and I'd be so awesome and I was thinking what it would be like to fly over the clouds and bounce on them and stuff… and then!" – The turtle tot took a deep breath – "I saw this little cloud! I dunno how he got here but I think he's lost and I think he's a baby 'cause the mommy and daddy clouds look way bigger when we go out and look at them, unless they're, like, just smaller than we think, so I thought that since he's so small and lonely we could keep him? I've been hiding him our room for weeks but I wanted to give him to you for your birthday 'cause now you can be his daddy too and you always say you like the sky lots!"
Master Splinter smiled warmly and placed the 'cloud' in his pocket, patting it softly, "I do like the sky, Michaelangelo. Although I did think it would be many more years before any of you gave me another little one to care for," He chuckled softly, "This is very thoughtful of you, my son. I will keep him close and know that I am always carrying part of the sky in my pocket."
Michaelangelo nodded, satisfied and grinned at his brothers and whispered loudly, "See! Told you I got him the best present this year!"
Well she asked for fluff and that's what she got ;)
