He finished waving his already drunk sister out of the flat, rubbing a hand over his face and letting out a slight breath.

It was time.

He pulled the crappy Christmas hat off of his head and moved out of the flat, taking his time heading down the stairs, moving out onto the street to flag down a cab. He hesitates a moment before climbing into the cab, mumbling a few directions at the driver before setting back against the back seat of the vehicle. He checked his watch every few moments, ignoring his phone as is buzzed away in his pocket. The cab pulled to a stop and John climbed, paying the cabbie and moving off jerkily, leaning heavily on his cane. He navigated his way through the other graves, coming to a standstill in front of Sherlock's headstone. He hesitates for a moment, standing at attention, his cane sinking into the ground a little. He takes a deep breath and grits his teeth as he kneels down, pulling a small bundle out of his pocket, setting it down in front of the headstone.

"Happy Christmas, Sherlock." He moves to sit down properly, leaning against the headstone for support. He stayed there for some time, ignoring the cramping in his left leg, not even bothering to shift when it began raining lightly. He began to drift off, mumbling a little.

"I miss you."

Sherlock watched on from a distance, hands clenched by his sides, forcing himself not to go over to the other. It had been two years, eleven months, and twenty-eight days since he had 'died' and gone off to bring down Moriarty's empire. He gritted his teeth and pulled his phone out of his pocket, sending a text off to Mycroft.

'Look after him. – SH'

There wasn't a reply. There never was. But he knew his brother would comply. He watched as John nodded off and sighed, finally moving over and tugging off his coat, quickly draping it over the Ex-Army doctor.

"Happy Christmas to you too, John. Not too long. I'll be back soon." He stood up after a moment, collecting the gift John had set down before quickly moving off, just managing to catch John's murmured.

"Love you, Sh'lock."
