Silent Witness one-shot. Doing quite a few one-shots at the moment! This was the first one that came into my head, I hope you enjoy! Feel free to comment, lots of speech in this ;)

"Hi Leo, so what do you call this? Calling me in on my day off! Really you should have called Nikki, she's more use than me!" Harry joked as he arrived at work after Leo obviously called him.

"Oh I'm glad you think of yourself so highly." Leo replied, "I haven't called you in for a case, and no you don't have to do any paperwork… It's your mum." He sighed.

"Oh dear lord, what has she done now, please tell me she hasn't come to see how her perfect little boy is doing in his life!" Harry laughed even though he wasn't keen on his mum.

"Harry, she's- she's dead. Apparently it was heart failure. I'm so sorry." Leo explained.

"No she can't be, no please Leo! Tell me you're lying." He cried.

"I'm so sorry!" Leo said, close to tears himself.

He ran. He ran out of the office and out of the labs. There was only one person he could talk to. His best friend, okay so maybe his feelings were stronger but she didn't feel the same way. He needed to talk to Nikki. Surely she'd understand; she lost her mum didn't she? And she coped ok.

He knocked on the front door to her apartment. It opened and Harry fell in love all over again, despite being upset he loved the way she smiled and had her natural long, curly blonde hair over her shoulders. "Harry, come in." she smiled.

He sat himself down onto her long leather sofa next to her. She saw the tears starting to build up in his eyes. The way he looked at her with sadness and confusion. "Harry, what's wrong?" she asked.

"It's her. She's dead. Oh gosh Nikki. She's gone. My mum!" he cried as Nikki quickly pulled him into a hug and slowly rubbed his back.

"Your mum? What happened to her?"

"Heart failure, that's what Leo said."

"I'm so sorry." Nikki soothed.

"You lost your mum didn't you? How did it feel and how did you cope?" Harry asked; confused at how well his friend had done.

"Life's too short to mope around. The people you love let go and you spend a lot of time crying over them. They're your family but you've got to keep strong, always. You won't ever forget them, they were part of your childhood, you owe everything to them but everyone dies." Nikki explained.

"I'm sure your mum would be proud, a strong, intelligent, beautiful and perfect daughter like you." He smiled.

"I'm not perfect." she whispered.

And the reply she got from Harry was, "too me you're perfect. In every single way!" as he leant in for a kiss…

Hope you enjoyed that, it's a one-shot. So no sequel or anything. I think it's nice the way I just ended it there ;)
