A/N: So, I'm really not sure where this is going to end up. I was originally going to make it a thing where Alice and Bella become friends and end up turning into crazed Steampunks because of Alice's obsession with Cosplaying and conventions. Now I have no idea. We'll have to wait and see. I know it's short but it's only the first chapter and I really need to do my Spanish project now. Also, Bella's probably a bit more sarcastic than as portrayed in the books...just a warning.

Obviously I don't own Twilight. If I did, that would be weird. Awesome, but weird.

Bella POV

First day of school. Gonna be aaaaawkward! Haven't been back since I was...well, little. I returned to Forks this year to live with my dad because my mom's traveling with her new minor-league-pitcher husband Phil. I didn't mind moving. I never really fit in Phoenix. Of course, I probably wouldn't fit in here either. I wasn't really looking forward to "meeting new people". I not much a fan of people.

After another minute of sitting in my brand-new (OLD) red Ford pickup truck, I sighed and climbed out, hoping I would go unnoticed at least until I got to my first class. No such luck.

"Hey, you're Isabella Swan, right?" A kid with short, spiky blonde hair and a babyish face popped up in front of me before I had taken three steps. I resisted the urge to groan.

"Bella. Please." I saw his smile falter a bit at my cold tone, but he persisted. Joy.

"I'm Mike Newton. Welcome to Forks!" I smiled and nodded.

"Thanks." I guess I should be happy I have a new friend already, right?

"Did you get your schedule yet?" Ugh. Friend #1: annoyingly cheery and persistent. Okay, maybe I'm just nervous.

"Uh, no. I was just about to do that so if you'll excuse me I'll just-"

"Oh! Let me show you where the office is!" Gah! Can't this kid just leave me be? No, apparently not. He grabbed my wrist and dragged me to the office, introducing me to the receptionist. I guess it was good because I didn't really have to talk. As soon as the damn thing was printed, Mitch or whatever his name was scanned it, his face dropping when he was done.

"We don't have anything together," he said dejectedly as he walked back over to me. I tried to hide my unbridled joy. Unsuccessfully.

"Oh, shame..." I looked towards the door and began to (not so) subtly drift in that direction.

"Well, I better go. Don't wanna be late for-" I glanced at my schedule.

"Algebra." I did a double take.

"Ugh. Algebra, really? First class? Damnit..." I grumbled to myself as I continued to the door.

"Wait! At least let me show you where it is!" He followed me eagerly, reminding me slightly of a puppy, except not as cute or lovable. Ah, screw it, I don't even like puppies. After being once again dragged down the hall by puppy-boy, we reached my class and I let out a huge sigh of relief. Escape! To Algebra! Oh, shoot me now!

Short, as I said. But don't worry, the next chapter will be longer, I hope promise!
