Ezio crouched on the tower watching his target arrogantly walking by. He noticed the reason for this immediately as he activated eagle sense, thirty guards were positioned strategically out of view. With a deep breath he started to run launching himself from the tower and into a bale of hay. The carriage drew ever closer the target concealing a pistol on the inside of the door but Ezio was one step ahead. Jumping through the window he sliced the throat of his target. "Requiescant in pace Desmond," he muttered under his breath.

Desmond leaped across the tight jump training his body to it's maximum capabilities. Every passing day drew the awakening closer, the day gods would once more descend to earth, Desmond knew that the human race was not ready yet, and he was going to stop it. The pieces of Eden had been gathered by Abstergo, all but one. If all of these were brought to the significant area then the human race would end forever. But unbeknown to Abstergo Desmond also knew where the pieces of Eden were stored and he was on his way to get them.

Lucy ran to Desmond "We need to go now the amalgamation begins in fifteen minutes". Above the sewer hideout Abstergo had started the ritual, if they were given the chance to finish it would all be over. Desmond watched impatiently as the pieces of Eden were placed in their places. The chanting increased as the placer raised the staff to put it into it's place. There was a grinding noise as it was placed but nothing happened. There was a crescendo of murmuring from the crowd that the door had not opened until a man with a commanding air walked to the front. "You will all be wondering why the door has not opened so I will tell you, we do not have all the pieces of Eden." There was an outcry but he gestured for quiet. " Fear not though as the last ingredient is underneath us." Desmond gasped as he was grabbed by two assassins. "We need not the man but his heart!" the shady character exclaimed as he reached into his coat for a ceremonial dagger. "And we're going to take it." Desmond had no words as his hooded sweatshirt was soaked with blood and he was surprised as a heart of pure gold was pulled out.

The crowds had dispersed leaving Desmond's broken body on the ground. " It's not your time yet Desmond," a voice whispered into his ear. "But you will never be the same, your own ancestor will end you but you cannot die, you have work to do."
