Cont. of Episode 3 The Comeback Kid

Annie finished her drink and slid from the barstool to her feet. She was angry, she wanted to pin it on Jimmy but he was right. If she were honest she was angry with herself. Taking risks to bring the bad guy down was what made her good maybe great at her job but never before had the team, her team doubted her. Never before had they been concerned not just for her for their own safety because of her choices.

Pulling her keys from her coat pocket she slipped out the door, not unnoticed by her partner.

The drive back to headquarters was quick, her mind in overdrive she couldn't remember getting from point A to B. Passing through security she made her way to her desk. Unlocking her filling cabinet she removed a set of files and made her way to the conference room. She poured over the contents of the files that she knew from memory in a vain attempt to find a new lead.

Hours past and yet she found nothing. She ran his aliases and last known contacts throughout the system without a single hit she returned to the evidence and photos, racking her brain for something anything to go off of.

Several beverages of the adult variety had not cooled Jimmy's temper, he was still huffy and irritated when he left the bar. His partner and her actions of late weighed heavy on his mind. Annie had always walked the line, but her heroic acts were beginning to border on recklessness. After today he was certain he wasn't the only member of the team picking up on it, either.

Returned to HQ, he headed for the bunks when a light from the conference room caught his eye. As he approached he spotted his partner, her back to him, engrossed in the contents of the case file box she had spread out over the table. He spotted the lid to the box, printed across it in large block print letter, one word FROST.

He stood outside wrestling with whether or not to make his presence known.

Should I continue? Is anyone reading this?
