Rey stood at her window. He had just left. She spent most every night with him, and he left as soon as the dawn began to streak the sky. It wasn't like they were having sex, just sitting and talking. The most unlikely romance you'd ever expect. Because, honestly, everyone did expect it. They all knew that one day they would be together. It was only a matter of time. But at this point - after only two weeks of seeing him after hours - no one knew. Not even Finn, her best friend. Because some part of her was still afraid of the monster that she used to see in him. But he wasn't that thing anymore. He was gentle and loving. He made her happy. Wasn't that all they needed? He had changed, and she could see it. He was no longer Kylo Ren. He had left the name, the mask, and the cape behind long ago. She called him "Ben" now. He was Ben Solo, and he was hers. Suddenly, she felt him in two realities at the same time. She felt his presence in her mind, and she felt his arms wrap around her. Ben, she acknowledged. Rey, he replied in her mind. She turned in his arms. "Why are you here? Shouldn't you be back in your own quarters?"
"Rey, my quarters are a cell. They don't lock my door at night, because my guards know that I'm okay and that I have somewhere to be as soon as the moon appears in the sky. It's all because they believe in me."
"Ben! How could you not tell me that?"
"Because there was no reason to."
"Yes there was! I can get you real quarters! I can-" She was cut off by his lips. I don't want to hide anymore, Ben's voice whispered in her mind. The Force Bond that they shared was very handy for when they were kissing so that they could still communicate. I want everyone to know. Please, Rey.
Only for you, loverboy.
Don't call me that, he muttered affectionately. I hate it when you call me that. I really prefer "Ben".
Yeah, I know. His wry laugh resonated in her mind.
I love you.
I know that, too. He pulled away from her. "Rey, we are one. Everyone knows it. They all know we love each other. They just have to know that we love each other. That… did not come out how I hoped."
"Ben, I love you. More than you know. I will tell everyone. It's been almost impossible to refrain, honestly. But now they all can know, and I won't be afraid. I am not afraid of Kylo Ren anymore."
"When were you afraid of him?" She laughed. "Good point."
"We are one, Rey. We belong solely to each other. We are Yin and Yang." She nodded. "Yin and Yang."
Oh, my god. I saw this image online and I was so inspired by it that I wrote a oneshot (this) and it came out so good that I have to post it as it's own story. I'm so happy, though. This might be one of my best stories ever. And that's saying something, because 1) I've written a lot of fanfics and 2) I've written some pretty good shit. But anyway, enjoy your day and I LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL!
Sorry, I'm in a weird mood right now.
Love you guys!
Allie
