A/N This is my first fanfic and I've never really written before but I was just bored today and decided to try it out. I know it's really short but maybe after I get more used to writing, I'll write longer stories. (If people like the stories :)) I'd love reviews on this one just to see if it's any good. Kay, well that's it so, hope you enjoy! :)
Lily Evans was sitting in the Gryffindor common room trying to make sense of the Transfiguration homework assigned to her that night. She suddenly heard a loud noise and looked up to see James Potter and Sirius Black playing a game of Exploding Snap. Lily rolled her eyes and tried to concentrate on her homework but couldn't stop thinking about James.
Lily and James were in their seventh year and were Head Boy and Girl. James had always been an annoying prat but this year he seemed to have changed. He didn't hex everyone he saw just for the heck of it and didn't play as many pranks. He was now charming and sweet but Lily had too much pride to admit she was falling for him.
Lily looked over at James again and sighed. He looked so handsome sitting there with his disheveled hair falling in his eyes and his face shining with happiness, laughing at a joke Sirius had just told. His tie was loose and the top two buttons of his shirt opened, exposing the skin of his chest. Lily longed to touch him and have him hold her in his arms. She knew that if she just gave in it could happen and they would both be happy, but she just couldn't bring herself to do it. She had hated him for so long and if anyone found out that she liked him now, she would be so embarrassed.
She looked back down at her homework but felt a presence near her. She lifted her head and saw James standing over her. He was searching her face, looking at her intensely, making her blush. He leaned closer to her and she could feel his breath on her face. Her own breath hitched and she closed her eyes, expecting him to kiss her, all thoughts of being embarrassed washed away. She waited to feel his warm lips on hers but felt nothing. Lily opened her eyes to see James staring at her. She looked at him questioningly and he leaned close again, this time his lips at her ear.
"Gotcha," James whispered, his face breaking into a breathtaking grin. He then started to walk to other side of the common room but halfway there, he turned and said "I love you too, Lily."
A/N The companion piece is now up and is called Does She Really? It's a bit longer than this one too. :)
