despondancy This stupid bunny got me writing at 5:30 AM while I was cranking
Rufus Wainwright. Sleep is the enemy. Don't you forget that. SLASH!
SLASH! DON'T SAY YOU WEREN'T WARNED!! I love doing pairings

Despondency

He waited, the cold night air embracing him like an old
friend. Perhaps it was. It often felt like his only friend.
God, that sounds melodramatic, he thought, curling his knees
to his chest and hugging them. He had to keep waiting. It had been
half an hour since the set time had passed, but he had to keep
waiting. How was he to handle it if...?
He let his head rest on the stone column behind him. Hope I
was clear in the note, he thought, running it over in his mind. 'You
know who this is from. I've come to a conclusion about what
happened yesterday. If you want to pursue a relationship, if you do
love me, meet me at the pavilion near the lake.'
He closed his eyes to recollect the events that he'd mentioned
in that note. Yesterday. God, how good the boys lips had tasted. Like
he had been a starving man, and that young man was a huge slab of
steak. He'd stammered like a fool, and gotten a smart slap in the
face for all the courage he'd mustered. But judging from the boy's
actions that morning, blushing and eyeing, he just knew he'd had to
have had a change of heart.
But now he sat here, feeling the icy white shards of fear
crystalizing in his chest and spreading steadily to his stomach.
Wasn't he going to show? He had to just be late, caught by a
classmate or something.
He just barely whimpered into the night. That was bullshit.
Fred Weasley knew every secret passage in the castle. He culd have
used any of them. He wasn't coming.
He clutched at hhis chest as though forbidding tears to
escape. I am a Malfoy, he thought, I am a Malfoy. And even though
my heart is breaking...I'll be just fine.
I'll be just fine.
