Kirk lay awake, again, in his Iowa childhood home. He'd never thought he'd have to come back here of all places. The perdition he felt now was much more than he had ever felt at any time in his life. He had been snatched from his dream on being Captain of the U.S.S Enterprise, no one, girls included, wanted anything to do with him and even his own mother was having second thoughts of him returning home.
He sighed and looked out the window where rain beat with fervor on the glass. The moon's silver rays barely streaked though the grey-black cloudy mess.
"Even the weather is sad." He thought inwardly. He chuckled halfheartedly while frowning.
The only thing that really brought happiness to his life was Spock. The pointy eared bastard had been with him through nearly everything since he had become captain and even when he was removed. Unfortunately, Spock was able to stay aboard the enterprise and was currently on a mission. Kirk ran his fingers through his already tousled hair and shut his eyes. "Could it be possible that I'm falling for him?" he thought. He shut his eyes and tried to find sleep.
How can I sleep when I feel like this? Alone.
