A Guide to Original Characters

Hey, so I've been seeing loads of crappy PJO fanfics, and I'm writing this to give our great authors great ideas to create better fanfics.

See, one problem about creating PJO fanfics is because people uses cliche characters. Some of these are:

Mr. Brunner the kind teacher

Rachel Dare the local whore

Annabeth Chase the transfer student

Percy Jackson the school player/jock/swimmer

Get what I mean?

Yet another problem is losers creating OCs that are children of the Big Three, or children of maiden goddesses.

Eurgh.

First, you should make the main character a failed child of Apollo, Demeter, Hermes, Hephaestus, etc. etc...

Well, at least it's original.

Make up a normal last name, too. Not like Lyka Arnau and Aiden Reville. Remember, Jackson and Chase are both normal. And you would like to copy Rick Riordan's writing style.

And do not use personalities that main characters in the story already possess.

When you make bullies, make them actual bullies if the main character is old enough to handle it.

Your characters cannot be popular. Only kids with high grades, athlete status and excellence in social interaction can be popular.

All of those criteria ADHD and dyslexic demigods cannot achieve.

Give them an actual fatal flaw. No personal loyalty and hubris can be used in an original story.

Anger management problems, being too sentimental and big-headedness are all fatal flaws.

Give him/her two friends. One boy, one girl. Neither should have the same personality with the other.

You can add more to my guidelines, but for now, this is all I can provide.
