The wind blew against trees, making bright colored leaves swirl around as my friend and I made our way back home from training with Master Wu. It seemed awkward as this was the only sound that could be heard as we breathed in cold air that was produced by a brewing storm. I had once again gathered enough courage and wanted to tell her about my personal thoughts of her but did not care for the rest of the team to make a remark should they have their own opinions on them.
"So…" Nya broke the pause and picked up a bright orange leaf. "What's up? Why did we go a different route from the rest?"/p
"I just…wanted to take you on a secret way through the forest…it is pretty when autumn comes," I replied. I didn't know how I was going to say what I really wanted to.
Nya looked confused. "Why only I?"
"No reason."/p
p style="color: #2c3635; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif; background-color: #dae5d6;" "You are so quiet it is hard to have conversation with you sometimes…" she brushed away a bit of hair from her eyes.
I knew that. But it was difficult to speak with her since I thought of her specially…She was so confident and beautiful. I made bet in my mind that she probably didn't even realize that. What more, she most likely only thought of me as friend and we were on the same team.
"Heh…yeah. I just don't have much to say."
A sudden gust of wind swept past us, sending cold rushes of air against both our entire bodies.
Nya stepped back and pulled her jacket closer to herself. "Burr…it's getting kind of cold….!" she exclaimed.
I had to agree. After a moment, I undid my orange scarf from my mother that I always wore. "H-here, this isn't much but hopefully it will be warmer…" I stuttered. Blushing, I slipped it around her neck and hastily tied it.
The water ninja looked surprised and smiled. "That's so sweet of you, Jay."
"It's nothing…I wanted to tell you something-"/p
There was a rumble of thunder somewhere in the distance.
"Let's hurry home," Nya said, "or we'll really get cold." She grabbed my hand and began to race to the city.
I ran with her and together we made it to her house.
"So what was it you wanted to tell me?" she stopped and panted, catching her breath.
"Never mind…" I didn't have the nerve anymore. The storm was coming faster and I had to hurry home anyways. "I-I'll see you around," I started home and waved. "Keep the scarf until you warm back up and you can return it at school tomorrow."
