He's been hearing Audrey's thoughts from the moment they met. Unlike many people he's never found hers to be obtrusive or painful. They simply flow through his mind and, as their partnership develops and their thoughts intertwine more often than not, he sometimes does not even realize that he is hearing her.
However much he gets used to it though, the important things stick with him. Like when they watch a romantic movie and she thinks that the lead actor is a bad kisser because he's trying to hard and you shouldn't have to try in a kiss. It should just happen.
He remembers that she loves that couple on that Studio whatever show because the guy is real and flawed and so is the woman, but they love each other even knowing all those flaws. And that's why they make such a perfectly matched pair.
He knows, the first time he kisses her, to put his hand on her face and tilt her head up toward his because she likes that he's tall and she likes his big hands. He thinks they're clumsy and uncoordinated, but she thinks they're strong and sure so when he deepens the kiss he slides his hands to her back and pulls her closer against him.
When he pulls back her eyes flutter open and she smiles, but her mind is completely devoid of thought for the first time since he's met her.
That silence might be the best thought he's ever heard.
