I almost cried at the end of the movie when Alice didn't bloody kiss Hatter.
Disclaimer: Alice in Wonderland is owned by Walt Disney. The only thing I own is what happens in this one-shot.
"Wonderland is in your debt forever and a half," the White Queen says, handing Alice the vial full of purple blood.
"Is it going to take me back home?" Alice asks.
The White Queen smiles sadly. "If that is your wish," she says, standing next to Tweedledim and Tweedledum.
"You could always stay," Mad Hatter says, coming from behind Alice.
"That is a wonderfully mad idea," Alice says, smiling gently, "but I have questions to answer and things to do."
Mad Hatter drops his gaze. "Why is a raven like a writing desk, Alice?"
Alice grins. "I have absolutely no idea." Then she uncorks the bottle, seeing Mad Hatter watch her with sad green eyes, and she closes her eyes. To hell with it, she thinks, throwing the vial away and allowing it to be smashed to pieces.
Mad Hatter's eyes widen.
"The truth is," Alice says, now grinning freely, "I don't feel like leaving, Mad Hatter."
And Mad Hatter likes the way he speaks his name. He hugs her tightly. "Thank you Alice."
"No, thank you," Alice says, her face buried into the crook of his neck.
And then, without stopping himself, Mad Hatter blurts out, "I love you."
And Alice freezes, and Mad Hatter's afraid, because he doesn't want her to go away.
And then she relaxes into his arms. He can feel her smile through his clothes, and when he releases her –
She reaches to his face, cupping one of his cheeks in her hand, before pressing her lips gently on his. He is surprised, but he helps her by snaking his arms around her little waist to bring her upwards, so that their faces are at the same level.
Then, out of the blue, a grinning Cheshire cat appears in mid-air, and says, "Now isn't that love."
The Queen is smiling and clapping, and over her claps, Alice's voice is heard clearly.
"That's good, because I love you too."
And Hatter grins, because he knows everything is going to be okay, like it's supposed to.
So, not the same lines as in the movie, but I didn't find the script and I only saw the movie once until now.
