If You Only Knew
For once in her life, Tawni Hart was not at an exclusive Hollywood Party on a Friday night. In fact, she did not have the urge to shop or do anything than watch the entire first season of "Gossip Girl." She was moping because the polls named her "the second prettiest" and "the second most popular" on So Random.
She reclined on her leather couch as she examined the brunette on "Gossip Girl". Tawni complete understood what she was going through. All the brunette (and Tawni) wanted was to be the queen and have her prince charming, but people close to her deprived her of that right.
Tawni sighed as she ate popcorn and then Nico and Grady barged into the room. She overheard Nico say that she was probably shopping, so they could play the Wii on her flat-screen TV. She rolled her eyes. Did they really think they could just use her stuff while she was away? "Too bad," Tawni snapped silencing the air with her irritation, "I am using my own TV." Tears formed in Tawni's eyes from feeling used by the people she cared about. It wasn't a new feeling, but every time it occurred, Tawni felt her heart slightly break. Nico bolted out of the room, but before Grady could leave, Tawni grabbed his arm.
"How could you use me like that?" Tawni said as tears streamed down her face.
Grady forced himself to look away. It was one thing to anger Tawni, but to make her cry when she obviously wasn't in a great mood was another thing. Grady was not sure it was completely his fault, but he couldn't stand to see a pretty girl cry, especially when it was Tawni. "I'm so sorry," Grady said sitting on the couch.
"I honestly shouldn't have expected anything less," Tawni admitted as she sat on the couch drawing her knees to her face as Grady began to eat popcorn nervously.
Grady apologized again, "I'm sorry." He noticed what was playing on television. "Why are you watching Gossip Girl?" he asked earning a shrug from Tawni.
Tawni sighed and said sadly as she continued to watch the brunette, "Poor girl, if only someone loved her." Grady was not a genius, but after being around Tawni for a couple of years, he knew that she only wanted to be the prettiest, most popular, and funniest girl that ever strutted onto television.
All she wanted was to be loved.
Grady wrapped a reassuring arm around Tawni as he mindlessly watched "Gossip Girl" with Tawni and said, "She just hasn't realized someone loves her, even if the people don't realize she's incredible around her."
"What do you mean?" asked Tawni arching her perfect eyebrow as she remembered how people she cared about abandoned her for some other girl like Chad Dylan Cooper did to her for Sonny Monroe. "She was abandoned by the person she loved for some other stupid girl who isn't that pretty or funny."
Grady replied with a smile, "Just because Prince Charming didn't choose her, it doesn't mean a jester won't always be by her side."
"Do you think so?" Tawni asked looking at Grady.
"If she only knew someone loved her as much I…" Grady paused choosing his words carefully, "love identical popcorn twins, all the people who don't matter that don't love her, wouldn't hurt her. She'd be happy." He kissed Tawni's forehead and left.
"If you only knew, Tawni," Grady said with a smile as he closed the door.
The End
