Wonder
Pansy always wondered about Hermione Granger. Some things were obvious; her massive intelligence, her bushy hair, her unwavering attachment to the side of light. These things did not need translation or decoding to someone as straightforward as Pansy. But by their seventh year, Pansy's senses had become hardened, toughened, and shrewd. She noticed things. And she noticed Hermione. She noticed her lily white hands, untouched by sunlight or anything harsher than parchment. She noticed that the girl never had a boy on her arm, despite her alleged affair with international Quidditch stars. And she wondered if Hermione noticed her too.
