"I can't believe you actually brought me here, Casey," Derek complained for the millionth time since they got to the book store.

"Stop complaining and we'll be out of here in no time," she responded with a big, fake smile his way. "I have been waiting months for this book. I will not let you ruin this for me."

"I just can't believe you actually like Harry Potter," he said sourly and Casey shoved him in the side with her elbow. Her very pointy elbow. "Ow!"

"And I can't believe you don't!" She started babbling then, "It has magic and adventure and cute girls!"

"I don't read."

"You read Playboy." When his eyebrows shot up in surprise at her knowledge of his magazine purchases, she added, "You go through my things, I go through yours. Get over it."

"I don't read books," he glared at her.

"Oh, whatever." And with that she went up to the cashier to purchase Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

What a loser, Derek found himself thinking, but a cute one at that.
