Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon
Warning: Probably more cursing then you would see in a T rated fanfiction, but I still think it's T rated. Also, everything is canon up until the 5th gym badge of Kalos (except with minor age changes, but that's it).
"Who are you," Valerie she muttered wonderstruck. She had every reason to be surprised. Three turns have past, and already the battle has been decided against Valerie, the sixth gym leader of Kalos. Sure, she had a type disadvantage, but being a gym leader and all, she learned how to deal with pesky Steels such as Scizor. Well, this was this Scizor was different. What her opponent brought was raw power that has never seen before. It took the designer back, and apparently it gave the referee and the whole audience the same effect.
Valerie blinked, but eventually snapped out of awe so the referee can decide the battle. Valerie turned to her. "Call it," she commanded.
With a little a shake of the referee's head, she eventually snapped out of the trance too. "Mawile is unable to battle," she announced, which was pretty self-evident, and raised the green flag pointed toward the opponent. "Tobias is the winner!"
"Scizor, return," Tobias commanded, and Scizor became a part of the red light when its Pokeball button was pressed. "I didn't expect less of you."
"Mawile, come back," the gym leader followed. "Don't put yourself down on this loss, alright?"
After the two Pokemon were back in their respective Pokeball, both Tobias and Valerie walked up to each other, meeting each at the center of the battlefield. Even though a minute passed, the crowd was still silent aside from occasional whispers. They shook hands and both showed sportsmanlike behavior telling each good game. Then somewhere within Valerie's fashion statement, she found her badge that shows trainers that defeated Valerie.
"I present to you," she declared and took a slight pause for dramatic effect. "The Fairy Badge."
Valerie took her hand out so Tobias can grab the badge, and he gladly obliged. "It's an honor," Tobias thanked. With that, he turned around with the thought of crushing Olympia already in mind. Darkrai is Tobias's signature Pokemon, and he loves using it against a Psychic gym every time. The footsteps piled up, as he was already nearing the gym's exit, but a rumble in his pocket stopped him in his tracks.
It was from his Pokedex, indicating a text message. Rather quaint for Tobias, considering his reserved list of "friends" only text when it's importance is significant. He reached into his pocket, pulling out his Pokedex. Tobias was a stranger to surprises as of late, considering he does have a Darkrai and a Latios, but he was caught off guard with the recent text.
"Serena ditched the position for Ash. I did find an alternative, though. He's from Earth too, so you may like that. I'm sort of proud of myself to be honest. He has potential. If rumors of you being in Kalos are true, then you may have some competition during the Kalos league. I'm going to drop him off in Kalos now."
The sheer amount of information Tobias was digesting took some time to process, but when he did, he laughed.
"Oh," Tobias murmured. "Let's see about that."
Phoenix doesn't understand his name. Phoenix is a name that inspires hope and idealism, but there he was, playing a Pokemon simulator. On Earth, there is many activities to partake, yet somehow playing a rather pointless R.P.G was what Phoenix did to pass time. Although some may say being the best at the game can inspire others, it was only a game. Millions play the games made by Nintendo, but digging down deeper into fan-made games is, although fun, is not respected by that many people. A hundred thousand. Such a miniscule amount compared to to the first number, isn't it? Only that number are to appreciate Nuzlockes and let's plays. Phoenix respects this, but does not enjoy it, so he claws in deeper. 80,000 people enjoy watching competitive content. While that's not bad, watching and being competitive are two different things.
Phoenix has one hundred people only can do, being the very best, like no one ever was. If you don't know what that means, it means being the best in a six versus six Pokemon match. Respect however isn't that much, as people who watch competitive content only know that guy who posts the video is good. Five hundred people actually knows Phoenix for what he earned, which he's fairly proud of.
Phoenix, unlike some who are still learning, joins tournaments and succeeds. SPL and OLT are some you can name. Although he never won any, he's generally in a ranking once a tournament is finished. Right now, the Official Ladder Tournament (OLT) is underway. Phoenix has won round one with ease. Round 2 however, was going to be pretty damn difficult. If this man able to get top of the ladder with a fucking Xatu, then he knew what he was doing. If teams with a Xatu on it are able to defeat the majority of Overused metagame, then he won't it.
Preperation is usually nonexistent. All you have to know is to know your opponent's playstyle and to to not get swept by the opponent's signature pokemon. You just have to make a good team and make the best move each scenerio while in your battle.
Phoenix looked around his room, just to be cautious nobody was going to be barging into his room. He was within a cluttered what is called his room. He never found it important to clean his room, as he found it pointless unless if it's needed. Nobody actually came over to his room aside from siblings, since nobody really understood him. Although he likes to have friends, there was no opportunity in his school
Sure, he may be a little shy, but he's not socially awkward. He wears popular clothes, and his looks are not bad, but to be able to create a conversation and to continue was near impossible. His interests can never be understood and he never understood popular ninth graders conversatio- No. People in his grade never had conversations. They were more accurately described as events. People flopping like dolphins within the bleachers, smoking Smarties, or just possibly trying to disrespect their people as much as they feel like. They would never learn, as he fully realized this when a majority of people told that they actually like going into in school suspension instead of receiving an education.
Social media was different. He never truly felt part of a conversation once again, but it was better. You didn't have think of something comedic on the fly. You are able to makes people laugh by your words. Not by your voice or your actions. This was the difference between real and social life. He was proud that he was able to be funny, deconfirming your suspicions of otherwise.
A month ago a mod showed a box in the Overused chatroom of Pokemon Showdown, a Pokemon simulator.
[15:46:43] Marriet: Click it.
Phoenix of course spammed it. Among the lag, he was patiently waiting for what was to happen.

"Oh, God, yes," Phoenix thought while laughing. "Wait, no. Dammit, I better not get banned."
Lucky to him, at least thirty people sent the message, so Relatedos highlighted what he typed to make it noticed:
[15:48:53] Relatedos: Do not clicked that button you will be banned.
[15:49:03] orginal nickname2: wut button.
[15:49:19] Misscelleanea: It's like pressing the big red button in a movie, except actually knowing you're fucked.
[15:49:21] Alfacore: LOL
[15:49:24] reckeri: lmao
[15:49:33] Sgt Saltterz: You gotta stop your shit posting, man. I'm too weak.
[17:25:55] Misscellanea (Directed to Bruh. Muh Dick): You just want to do the matches now?
[17:26:17] Bruh. Muh Dick (Directed to Misscellanea): Sure
Bruh. Muh Dick wants to battle!
Phoenix clicked accept. Before the battle started people started rolling in. He was in the Smogon Tournaments server, so people know that a good battle is happening.

This is the life Phoenix lived in. He's to entertain. Himself. "Friends". Strangers. This is it. This is what Phoenix chose. Phoenix knows that the only thing able to keep him strive is the future. He cannot even achieve in the future if this insignifigant activity compared to others is what is occupying him. Phoenix found Pokemon as an escape; that this is the only way to challenge himself outside of his hopeless. He thought he would never be recognized as one of the best, but there he is. Phoenix's is no longer satisfying as he was one of the best. An empty feeling emerged from him.
"Did I choose this?," he thought. "This is how is express my abilities? So I accomplished my goal, now what? I can hardly become better, I am limited to what I can accomplish. It's not like I can make a living out of this but this is my only form of happiness. Why?"
He didn't care about the battle now. Phoenix was too deep in thought combined with sadness. The team preview showed Bruh's team, which has the infamous Xatu. On better days, he would laugh, thinking he can take the fucker down. Spectators loved what they were seeing from both sides. Phoenix had an Azelf. That's OK. Then there was Gorebyss, who loved to do Baton Pass shenanigans. The most noticeable pokemon Pikachu-Belle.
96sloot: lmao
cumquat: what the legitmate hell man?
Mr. K: LOL
"I wanted this, right?"
To entertain? Yes
To become known? Yes.
To feel proud? Yes.
"Did I need this?"
Is this helping him for items for survival? No.
Did he find friends? No.
Did he find something he loved?
"Do I love what I chose? Yes... No? Maybe so?"
He needed to relax. Yes. Phoenix needs to enjoy what he has. His fame and enjoyment, that's what he got, or so he thinks. He sent out Azelf while Bruh sent out Xatu. They both set up their screens during turns one and two. Azelf exploded turn three as expected. Phoenix sent out his Gorbyss.
Bruh. Muh Dick: Dammit
Xatu got his ass out of there while he sent in his Thundurus. It was too late, Gorbyss set his Shell Smash, giving it +1 Attack, Special Attack, and Speed. Thundurus could only Thunder Wave, as Bruh knew what was going to happen. Gorbyss didn't get paralyzed much to Bruh's dismay. Although that was fortunate for Phoenix, he didn't care. He gave up caring and just went with what was happening. Phoenix sent in Pikachu-Belle and all hell broke loose.
Pikachu used Icicle Crash!
Thundurus lost 100%! Thundurus fainted!
Thus Pikachu aboarded the Sweep Train, chugging along, OHKO'ing everything in its path with a combination of Electro Ball, Hidden Power Fire, Icicle Crash, and Grass Knot.
Bruh. Muh Dick: MUH DICK
Cl0ne: rofl
RFL: This man LOL
The room around turned grey. Color has been drained everywhere, except for one figure. The Pikachu he'd swept with. It was also doing his animation, like it should. Although, he detected everything else is frozen too. Nobody was leaving the room, while although odd, doesn't confirm anything. What confirmed this is because absolutely nobody was chatting within the room despite the liveliness this battle achieved before. He knew it wasn't his internet. It was ethernet and the weather was at a cloudy sixty degrees outside.
Pikachu-Belle turned around and tore away it's clothes using the little he has.
"What the," Phoenix muttered.
Pikachu now has an angered expression upon his face. Sparks are coursing throughout his body.
"Pika!"
Phoenix tried to exit out the battle using his mouse as maybe that covert things back to normal. That was useless.
"PIKACHU!" Pikachu screamed. Pikachu used Electro Ball and now electricity from it is shocking his laptop with high voltage. With his hands still on the mouse, Phoenix absorbed the impact, abliet, not too well. He collapsed, rolling out of the bed he was once sitting on. He tried to not lose consciousness, but he was steadily losing the battle.
Phoenix knew he will lose the battle now. The only thing he tried to do now is realize what will happen. Time is frozen, and was on the verge of blacking out by a Pikachu. The two facts didn't seem relevant. If he was the only one able in frozen time, why would he be knocked out. By a Pikachu? If it was his moment to roam through time to possibly get the time of his life he deserved, why would it be wasted. If time was frozen, it had to be either a revenge story or sexual fanfiction.
It can't.
His name his name is Phoenix.
Phoenix inspires hope, not inspires hopelessness.
Phoenix always revives, they do not stands still.
This was planned.
"My special defenses must be shit," he muttered, and his eyes closed shut.
I'm not going to make large author's notes, as I know people don't care about if they got a fucking headshot in CoD because guess what? I don't care. Anyways, this is more of a project to see how this new way to influence Ash gets received. We have seen plenty of aura related or legendary related stories of how Ash learns not to be Ash. No, he won't not be automatically be smart because doing that is flawed. Like, if Cynthia is using a Spiritomb, how the fuck did Ash understand basically everything within his young childhood? It's flawed in my opinion.
Phoenix will not be a Gary-Stu before I get something like that. You will learn that he will show ignorance in some areas and will have some different ideals not popularly accepted. This chapter involves no real social interaction, so to show personality is impossible in my opinion.
tl;dr This story will have a different approach and Phoenix won't be a Gary-Stu.
Leave reviews as they will help me go back into a field I haven't done in a year as I really do want it, even if it's negative or positive, it would be nice to get constructive reviews. Heck, follow and favorite if you really want, it won't hurt me.
