So I had to write a poem for my creative writing class, and it ended up being a Hetalia fanfiction? Kind of. I mean, I wrote it about Kumajirou 'cause he's the awesomest character ever. The theme that I had to incorporate was 'Stories can save us' and I didn't know what else to do. If you don't like poetry, please don't read this because this is a poem. Thanks.
Disclaimer: I wish I owned Hetalia. But I don't.
...
Once before, a story
Was swallowed in the sea
It laid there for a thousand years
Too stuck in damage to breathe.
Among it were its brothers:
Pearls and diamond rings;
For its new home was a shipwreck
Once swallowed by the sea
Kumajiro the stuffed polar bear
Was too swallowed in the sea.
A boy named Matthew dropped him
Down into the green.
Kumajiro felt himself sink faster
Past fishies, shrimp and sharks,
For when you have been swallowed in the sea
Where you end is dark.
He felt himself hit bottom.
He couldn't see the light.
Swallowed in the sea, he felt
As if he was seeing night.
The shock hit him like a bullet.
He repeated, Swallowed in the sea.
He felt the sand around him
But found instead something scaly.
This creature he felt was lucky,
He was not swallowed in the sea.
Kumajiro reached down again
Trying to break free.
Instead he felt deflated paper
Once swallowed by the sea
He tried to pick it up,
To see what it could be.
He recognized it as a book
And then felt less alone.
For, it too was swallowed by the sea.
It too had reached its home.
He tried his best to read it
Until he remembered he couldn't read.
He was a stuffed polar bear
And the ink was swallowed in the sea.
Kumajiro grabbed the book
And held it to his chest
Now that he was swallowed in the sea
He would try to do his best.
Then Kumajiro was rising up,
And the book was finally free.
They were swallowed by a whale
And spit up by the sea.

Thanks for reading! :3
