Prologue
King Odin is not called the All-Father for nothing. This we know. There are few things in existence, among all the worlds, that give him pause. But one exists. As enlightened as Asgard is, there is another world that rivals its brilliance and power. It too mothers great warriors and noble leaders, and fosters art, learning, and innovation; and has even had its share of wayward sons. Pooling their strength, these worlds have tried to guide the other, younger worlds in the right direction, especially the tumultuous, paradoxical Earth. In this they wait, watching. You see, a child was promised them, who would become a great warrior, ruler, and guide. The Vonieta, they called her, and was, quite simply, to save the world—all of them. These ancient prophesies spread forth among the worlds, often changing and morphing the promised queen into a deity she wasn't. At any rate, she was to hail from a world of great power—either Asgard or its twin. But a great evil has befallen Gaïa, this valiant mirror of Asgard. Evil that, left unchecked, threatens everything these titans built. In truth, this evil has always existed in the hearts of men, and this Vonieta is to teach men to cast it out—of all worlds.
