"What are you reading Leon?"
The six year old jumped and he looked up at Seifer, holding the papers he'd been looking through to his chest.
"Its nothing…" He lied.
"Didn't look like nothing… it looked like Matron's paper work." Seifer said with a smug grin, staring down at the brunette.
"Whatever… go away Seifer." Leon grumbled smoothing out the paper work on his bed sheets. The blond sat down behind him leaning his chin on Leons shoulder as he shifted throw the papers. They were his records, Seifer could tell that much. Leon, was written in bold across the top of all of them.
"What are you looking for?"
"I…. wanna know my last name." Leon admitted, frowning as he pulled out his birth certificate. Seifer felt the younger boys shoulders drop in defeat. Only his first name was written on it. His parents names weren't even signed onto it.
"Leon?"
"What?"
"You okay?" Seifer asked, feeling the boy shrug in reply. "You are such a baby, you know that?"
Seifer pulled the brunette backwards into his arms, turning him so he could hug the six year old to his chest. He heard him sniffle softly, but no tears fell from his cheeks. He hadn't seen Squall cry sense the day Ellone went missing.
"Its not fair… everyone else has a last name." Leon choked into the blue and white t-shirt.
"Whys it matter? When Matron and Cid get all the paper work done, you'll get to pick your own last name, how cool will that be?" Seifer asked grinning.
"But Irvy said that if you don't have a last name your parents didn't want you…" Leon said softly.
Seifer fell silent, tightening his grip on his friend. He knew Leon had no memories of his parents at all and that it bugged him. Even Seifer had a few memories of his mother, what she looked like and the sound of her voice if he thought hard enough. Leon had nothing.
"You're such a cry baby, gimme those papers!" Seifer huffed moving him out of his way. He grabbed a pen from the table and looked at the papers, thinking hard.
"What are you doing Seifer?" Leon asked.
"Whats Matron always calling you? Skull?"
"Squall."
Seifer nodded and looked down at the paper, writing as carefully as he could on the paper the letters that spelled, Squall.
"I got it!" He announced writing again.
Leon peaked over his shoulder a frown crossing his face.
"Squall Leonhart?" He asked, looking at the blond.
"Yeah! Cause Matron's always calling you Squall, and she's practically our mom, and Leonhart cause you like lions and always say you have the heart of one!" Seifer said beaming, the seven year old seemed very proud of himself.
"I think theres a 'e' in heart Seifer." Leon pointed out.
"Shut up it does not know it all!" Seifer huffed, glaring at the blue eye'd boy. He threw the pen down and got off the bed, storming off towards the play room. He'd thought it was pretty clever!
"Seifer!"
"What?" He snapped turning just in time to catch Leon as he wrapped his arms tightly around his torso, burring his face in his shoulder.
"Thank you…"
"…. No problem… Squall." He said smiling, kissing the younger boys forehead and returning the hug.
