I slammed my door, annoyed to the point of crying, at my mothers bickering and my step fathers accusing tone. They hate me, I know it, they do, everyone does. I'm failing all of my classes due to lack of concentration and care. My parents make me feel even worse, like I'm not good enough or even worth their time. I mean, yes, they care for me and buy me things, but they never listen. And a love life, well, I don't have one. Of course I yearn for someone to hold and love and charish like everyone else does, but there isn't anyone, not yet. The worst of all is I feel alone; I had lost my father when I was eight to a heart attack. We were practically best friends. I was lost in thought, staring up at my ceiling, already in tears. All of a sudden I had the urge of adventure, the wantingto find something; something, somewhere new, exciting, away from reality. I slid on my comfterable rubber shows and walked to my window on the far left side of my room, unlocking it and taking a last look at my dark bedroom before climbing out and shutting the window softly behind me.
It was partially freezing and pitch black outside; glad I had brought a jacket. I decided on walking to the park, only half a mile down the street. I started walking on the pavement of the sidewalk, going to the little/big fantasy world inside my head.
Once I reached the park, I let out a sigh of relief. I practically skipped to the swing set feeling so free. Sitting down, I noticed a couple walking on the path across from the park, clinging to each other, holding hands. Both men were shivering it seemed, but still smiling. The one on the left had dark, curly hair that slightly bounced as he walked and dark eyes, he was very attractive, but the other had this grace and elegance I couldn't quite describe, with slicked brown hair and a stylish scarf draped around him and his partner. It looked like a scene from a movie. If they only knew how perfect they looked, how lovingly they gazed at each other when one wasn't looking or when they looked into each others eyes.
I was knocked out of my epiphany by a low, unfamiliar voice from behind me. I turned to look, seeing a boy about my age, with a look of worry and a hint of sadness in his eyes. "Mind if I join you?" He asked with a small smile.
"Oh, yes, yeah, of course." I stammered out, still in shock. He then sat in the swing next to mine and swung silently. Looking back at the couple. I notced they were now sitting on a bench near the exit of the park, still clinging to each other, one resting his head on the others shoulder.
"Lovely sight isn't it?" The mystery boy asked, now looking in the direction of the couple.
" Yeah." I replied, then without thinking, " They're so lucky", I just sound really pathetic. I turned to him, realizing he had the most mezmorizing eyes I'd ever seen, a mix of violet and navy blue.
"Mark." He said as he lifted his hand from his coat pocket. I shook it and replied with my name in return." Well, it's very nice to meet you."
"It's nice to meet you too, Mark."
