"I can't believe we get to go to a real life haunted asylum." Dil said excitedly as he sat on a plane with Tommy, Phil, and Lil.

"Yeah I'm hoping to get some actual footage for my Halloween movie." Tommy told them pointing his camera at Phil and Lil across the isle.

"Don't worry bro. Min Jun told me this is the most haunted place in Korea." Dil assured him."We'll catch a ghost for sure."

The plane landed a few hours later and MIn Jun and some man that the kids had never seen before were there to pick them up.

"Hey guys." Min Jun greeted as he saw his friends for the first time since moving back.

"Hey. How's life been?" Phil asked as the two boys highfived.

"Good. You?" Min Jun asked.

"Good." Phil answered.

"Ok you two can talk later. I want to see some ghosts." Dil yelled impationtly.

"We will when it gets dark." Min Jun whispered and jerked his thumb in the direction of the man standing a few feet away."My dad knows the way. He'll take us later."

"So is your dad back in your life?' Phil asked from the backseat of the car as they drove to Min Jun's apartment.

"Here and there." MIn Jun shrugged."He's the one that told me about this place and I know Dil is into this kind of stuff so that's why I told you guys about it."

"Well we're glad you did." Dil said ecitedly.

They arrived at Min Jun's apartment twenty minutes later. Min Jun's dad said soemthing to him and went down the hallway.

"I'm glad my parents made me speak Korean in America cause I'd be screwed right now." Min Jun said unlocking the door and stepping inside.

"What did your dad say?" Phil asked following the others inside.

Min Jun was about to answer when he heard two sets of feet running down the hallway. The next thing he saw was Phil on the ground with Cleo licking him all over his face and Dil and Ji Yeon sprawled out on the floor.

"I missed you too Cleo." Phil grunted pushing the dog off him and petting her head.

"I think you spend to much time with Cleo, Ji Yeon. You're starting to act just like her when you get excited." Min Jun laughed.

"Shut up. I do not." Ji Yeon said standing up and hitting Min Jun in the arm.

The kids sat around watching scary movies since it was cloudy and cool outside and they didn't know what else to do.

"Man these movies are creepier then most of ours." Tommy commented once they had finished a movie called Face.

"That movie had a sad ending though." Lil added.

The watched another movie and by the time it was over it was dark outside.

"Ok. It's dark. Let's go." Min Jun said standing up and walking to the door.

"Where are you going?" Ji Yeon asked standing up along with everyone else.

"No where you would want to go." Min Jun answered. He didn't want his sister to know where they were going for fear she would tell his parents and he would get in trouble.

"We're going to a haunted asylum." Dil blurted out before anybody could stop him. Min Jun glared over at Dil, who just shrugged.

"I want to come and if you don't let me I'll tell mom and dad where you went." Ji Yeon warned.

"Fine. Go grab a flashlight and meet us out in the hall." Min Jun groaned."And since I'm letting you come with us you can't say a word to mom and dad."

"I won't tell. I want to see a ghost." Ji Yeon insisted as she walked to her a room.

A few seconds later Ji Yeon met the other kids and her uncle out in the hall.

"Why are you bringing Cleo?" Min Jun asked noticing the dog at Ji Yeon's side.

"You know she doesn't like to be alone." Ji Yeon reminded him.

Min Jun knew that all to well when he'd come home from school to find something of his torn up that he forgot to put away.

"Dog's can see ghosts so with Cleo we'll see one for sure." Dil cried excitedly.

They piled into the car, with the younger kids sitting on top of Phil, Lil, and Tommy. Min Jun wa the only one not squished since he got the front seat with Cleo on the floor board. They made their way out of the city and onto a dark road with nothing but grass on either side. They drove for awhile making small talk until they came upon an imposing stone building that was three stories tall.

The group entered the dark building armed with flashlights and a small light on Tommy's camera. They began walking down a long hallway. They soon heard a noise that sounded like metal scraping on concrete.

"What was that?" Lil asked grabbing onto Phil's arm.

"I think I'm going to wait outside." Ji Yeon commented backing away from the group as the sound was heard once more, closer this time.

"Guys come on it's probably nothing." Tommy declared pointing his camera and light toward the sound to reveal an old rusted wheel chair sitting in the middle of the hallway.

The kids sighed in relief at seeing what had made the noise. They also noted the broken out windows where a slight breeze was blowing in. They moved passed the wheel chair and made their way upstairs.

They decided to split up to cover more ground. Tommy, Dil, and Min Jun went right while Phil and Lil went left. They shone their lights into each room not seeing much in the way of the paranormal, mostly old hospital equipmnt left behind. They were about to turn back and meet back up at the staircase when they heard a scream.

"What was that?" Lil asked as they all ran back to the staircase.

"Where is Ji Yeon?" Min Jun asked starting to panic.

"She went back outside." Dil answered."And she took Cleo with her which probably explains the lack of ghosts."

"We just heard someone scream and all you can think about is the lack of ghosts?" Tommy asked as they all made their way back to the entrance.

"Hey we don't know who screamed." Dil shrugged.

They all went outside and looked around not finding anything not even footprints.

"She's not here." Min Jun cried starting to panic once more. He was a dead man walking if he didn't find his sister.

"Maybe she went back to the car." Lil suggested.

They went back to the car where Min Jun's father was waiting. He asked him if he had seen Ji Yeon. He answered that he hadn't and got out of the car to help the kids look. They looked for over an hour with no luck. They eventually decided to call the police, which meant informing Min Jun's adoptive father sooner then he would've liked.

"What happened?" Jin asked as calmly as he could trying to keep his anger in check.

"She just disappeared." Min Jun answered quietly.

"Take them home." Jin told his brother in law.

"Go to your room." Mi Sun said sternly. Her voice wasn't raised but Min Jun knew better then to say anything and just went to his room with his friends following quietly behind him not knowing what else to do. They heard yelling a few seconds later but only Min Jun could understand what was being said.

Min Jun put on a movie to try and drown out the yelling match that was currently going on in the living room. Luckily it was quiet soon after the movie started.

The next day there was still no trace of Ji Yeon. Tommy and the rest of the kids were sent home leaving Min Jun alone with his thoughts.

"Keep us updated." Lil said giving Min Jun a hug as they were about to board their plane to go home.

"Yeah." He answered simply returning the hug.

It had been a week since Ji Yeon disappeared. A search party had been formed to cover more ground. Everyone even Min Jun father helped search, not touching a drop of alcohol the entire time, which impressed Min Jun, who was not allowed out of the house. His older siblings were stationed at the house to make sure he didn't leave. It had rained all week which Min Jun was greatful, it matched his mood. He felt guilty. He should've just told her she couldn't come and delt with the consequences later. They wouldn't have been as bad as this. At least she would be home and not lost or who knows what.

Meanwhile the search was still underway. It was late in the evening and they were loosing daylight fast. Jin and Mi Sun were walking through a tree filled erea that hadn't been searched yet. They came upon a clearing. They noticed something odd in the middle of the clearing but with the fading daylight they couldn't make out what it was. They turned on their flashlight and approached slowly. They heard a dog start barking and growling as they got closer. Jin pushed Mi sun behind him. He shone the flashlight on the barking dog.

"Cleo." He called. The dog stopped barking when she heard her name and resorted to wagging her tail allowing Jin and Mi Sun to approach.

Mi Sun gasped at the sight of her daughter tied up to a stake in the ground. She had scratches and bruises on her arms and face and bleeding head wound. JIn cut her down and she fell into Mi Sun's arms. Ji Yeon was smaller then most ten year olds so she was easy for Mi Sun to carry out of the clearing. She was taken to the hospital soon after she was found. She woke up a few days, but refused to talk about what happened to her. All she would say was that Cleo kept the bad people from hurting her. She was discharged and sent home to recover. Min Jun tried to visit her in the hospital but Ji Yeon didn't want to see him.

"She hates me." Min Jun muttered as he sat outside the hospital room in an uncomfortable plastic chair.

"She's just scared." Min Jun's father told him as he sat next to him while Ji Yeon's parents were in the room with her. She didn't want to be alone.

"Why would she be scared of me?" Min Jun asked."I didn't do whatever they did to her out there."

Realization hit Min Jun's father at that moment and he had a flashback of his little sister coming hime with bandages on her head scared of the dog that never did anything bad to anyone."You remind her of them. That's all." Min Jun's father explained."She'll get over her fear just like her mom did. It just takes time."

Min Jun understood what his biological dad was saying. He remembered that his adoptive mother was once scared of dogs. Min Jun just hoped it wouldn't take his sister as long to get over her fear.

Ji Yeon was allowed to go home a few days later. Min Jun avoided her a smuch as possible but it wasn't easy since their house was so small. Ji Yeon would often wake up from nightmares. Min Jun cringed everytime he heard her scream in the dark. It brought everything crashing back on him. He wanted to offer her some comfort but knew it would just make it worse so left it up to his parents.

After three sleepless nights Mi Sun decided to take Ji Yeon to her parents house for a change of scenery hoping it would help.

They could hear the ocean from where they were sleeping on the floor. Mi Sun looked over and noticed Ji Yeon sleeping peacfully. She was about to turn off the lamp and go to sleep herself when suddenly there was a soft knock on the door. Mi Sun got up and opened the door to find her older brother standing there.

"I know it's late but I saw the lamp on." Her brother started.

"Yeah, she's afraid of the dark again." Mi Sun explained.

"I just wanted to apologize for everything whe we were kids and for taking the kids to that place." Her brother said holding out a small box of pokki with Hello Kitty on it."You used to love these when you were little. You refused to share with anyone."

"Thanks." Mi Sun taking the box."I still do."

Mi Sun moved aside to allow her brother into the apartment sensing he had more to say.. They sat down on the couch.

"How is she doing?" He asked staringover at his neice.

"She's been asleep for twenty minutes ith no nightmares." Mi Sun answered opening the box of pokki and holding it out to her brother.

He took one and bit into it."You share now?"

"Sometimes." Mi Sun laughed.

"Anyway I'm sorry for everything that I did to you after what happened with the dog. I just didn't understand why we had to get rid of her or how you could be scared of her when she never did anything to you. I understand now. She was a reminder of what happened."

"I can't say for sure because I don't remember but that's probably why." Mi Sun commented.

"Min Jun feels the same way I did." He continued.

"So he's going to drink his problems away?' Mi Sun asked.

"No. I won't let that happen and I know you and Jin won't either. I'll let you get some sleep."

Ji Yeon didn't wake up the whole night. They stayed a few more nights and went home with a machine that made ocean noises hoping it would help Ji Yeon contune to sleep through the night.

Ji Yeon walked into her room to find glow in the dark stars and a dolphin nightlight in her room.

"Min Jun put those up. He knows you hate the dark." Jin explained.

"Where is he?" Ji Yeon asked.

"In his room." JIn answered.

Ji Yeon went to Min Jun's room and knocked on the slightly opened door. Min Jun looked up from his comic book.

"Will you watch a movie with me?" Ji Yeon asked.

"You're not scared of me?' Min Jun asked sitting up.

Ji Yeon shook her head. Min Jun followed her to the living room and sat down on the couch with the rest of his family while they watch Moana.

"Thank you for putting the stars on the my wall and not making fun of me for being afraid of the dark." Ji Yeon said as they settled in to watch the movie.

"No problem." Min Jun said.

The End.

A/N I hope this was ok. I couldn't think of aname for Min Jun's father. I can't remember if I gave him one in a previouse story. I was also thinking of doing a story about Mi Sun and her relationship with her brother but didn't know if anybody would find it interesting. Maybe I'll explore that in my rewrite of Time To Face Your Fears which is the next stroy I'm going to post unless another rendom idea takes over.
