"Mmm, this is delicious! Why haven't I heard of this place before?"
"Dunno. You don't leave that office cubicle much, right?"
"Yeah, I guess. Usually swamped with work and such."
"You might actually have some free time like this once in a while if you just got out of there sometimes."
Wheatley sighed, shaking his head.
"Y'know, I think she does this on purpose. Gives me all this bloody paperwork and then screams at me when it's not done right away." Wheatley complained. "Really,it's not like I can just snap my fingers and have it all filed in an instant! It's mad!"
The brunette drew a deep breath in an attempt to calm down. He popped another mouthful of the seafood into his mouth with a relaxed grin.
"You really like that stuff, huh?" Neil asked. Wheatley nodded vigorously, still stuffing his mouth with food.
"Yes, this tastes excellent! Seriously, I can tell why you love this place so much." Wheatley said. Neil shook his head.
"Nah, I don't come here for the food." he said. Wheatley gave him a puzzled look. "I usually don't even buy anything.". The Brit looked at him as if he were insane.
"What could you possibly want with this place if you aren't looking for food?" Wheatley asked. The red head smiled, pleased his friend had asked. He leaned back in his chair and pointed up.
Wheatley looked towards the ceiling. Above them was a magnificent painting of the solar system. It was a near perfect replica. He could only imagine how long it took to paint it.
"Why are you so interested in space, mate?" Wheatley asked. Neil just shrugged. The brunette shook his head. He couldn't understand it. His co-worker was so obsessed with space and everything it contained. Every other sentence out of his mouth was about the damn thing. It was if all he knew was space.
Wheatley's train of thought was interrupted by their waiter arriving at their table.
"Your dessert has arrived, gentlemen." The man said.
"Oh, uh, thank you." Wheatley stammered. A chocolate cake with chocolate icing was set down in front of them, topped off with six cherries. Neil sat back up and grabbed his fork. "This is a pretty big cake for just the two of us." Wheatley observed. Neil scoffed.
"I can handle whatever you don't want." The redhead said. Wheatley raised an eyebrow. His colleague was a fairly skinny guy. Surely he didn't eat that much did he?
Neil had stayed true to his word because by the time Wheatley was getting full his partner had nearly eaten three fourths of their dessert. Alright, so maybe he could eat a lot if he wanted to.
"Ah, so, Neil. I know this sort of thing isn't really allowed- between us, I mean, because uh, company policies, y'know- but this has been lovely. Absolutely fantastic, and I think that maybe-" Wheatley rambled. He looked up at Neil who was still munching on the cake. He had chocolate smeared across his cheek.
"Oh, you've got something on your face." Wheatley said. Neil felt around for the stain for a moment. "Here, let me get it.". Wheatley licked his thumb and prepared to clean his date up when something wonderful happened. Neil planted a kiss on his cheek. Just a peck really, nothing huge, but wonderful nonetheless.
Wheatley's face flushed beet red as he found himself momentarily paralysed. He gave a nervous giggle, backing up a bit.
"Y-you, you... Kissed me! You kissed me, Oh my God. Was not expecting that if I'm honest. Ah, not that it's a bad thing. I could get quite used to it actually. In fact... Eh... Could you do it again? Maybe?" Wheatley rambled. Neil let out a soft chuckle before he kissed Wheatley again, this time on the lips. "Ahaha... Ahaha... Aha... We should-we should do this again sometime.".
