Storm by: Christine Jordan. My friend Terra sent me this poem and I thought
it was one awesome poem for a fic! It reminds me of Rurouni Kenshin so here
it is!
It was a rainy night. Kaoru sat in up in her futon. She hated these nights with more than a passion. Her rurouni was in the other room probably sleeping. She sighed, ' why do I have to be afraid of lightning!?' she questioned her self. Even if it was a fear from her passed she still couldn't forget.
As I hear the thunder in the distance, As I hear the silence of my thoughts,
As I think of the path of last resistance
She thought back to her childhood.
* Flash back*
" Mommy! Mommy! Are you okay?" Little Kaoru called as she saw her mother drift off. Her mother smiled
" Kaoru, Mommy won't be able to see you anymore"
" Why?" she was confused, why not. Her mother would be around forever.
" Because I'm needed else where. I will see you when you are needed with me okay?" she patted her on the head. Her eyes closing and she breathing giving out. Kaoru looked at her.
" Mommy?" The rain was still hitting hard on the roof of the dojo. The lightning flashed and the thunder roared. Kaoru cried next to her now dead mother.
I choose no for you are the stars, And in the sky as far.
She started to cry. Why did she leave! She never found out why. Her father had come in after that and took care of her till he died. She tried to hold back her sobs but to no avail. She cried out loud. Kenshin hearing her got up and walked to her room door. " Miss Kaoru? Are you alright?"
She looked up but didn't answer. He walked in walking over to her he sat down next to her. " Are you alright" he put his hand on her lap. There was a huge crash of thunder. The next thing Kenshin knew Kaoru was in his arms.
There is a paradise in the thunder, That brings me into your arms, And holds me in the dark.
" It's okay Miss Kaoru" he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. He whispered soothing words to her. She snuggled close.
" Kenshin?"
" Hm?"
And for a moment or so there is a perfect silence, As the greatest storm passes us by. Our lives and many springs, And summers passed us by in a heartbeat,
She reached up and kissed him. " Thank you Kenshin."
He blushed kinda taken back by her kiss, not expecting it " Don't mention it Miss Kaoru."
She rested her head on his chest, basking in her pride that she was with him. Not Megumi, not anyone else.. but her. She snuggled closer to him.
This only seemed like one night. But with more importance in this short time I flew of greater distance, To the storm that started our hearts beating in the darkness, Time stopped in the moment and also flew And then I am here and you are the stars And nothing can bring me back to you,
The storm passed. Kaoru was asleep. Kenshin got up and left. When she awoke he was nowhere to be found only a note. Telling her that it was time he wandered again. But he will be back in time. She clutched the note to her chest and started to cry.
" Why did you leave Kenshin!"
I look up and long for you. And you're just as far The storm is coming again to take you away, In the moment that we lived for a day.
Kenshin returned with in a few weeks. " Miss Kaoru?"
Kaoru looked up from doing the laundry " kenshin?" He smiled. She got up and ran into his arms glad he was back.
TA DA! The end!
Yet another fic! Yay! Well I really have nothing to say! So bye!
