Hermione Granger grabbed what was soon becoming her favorite book, Hogwarts, A History, and ran down the stairs to the Gryffindor common room. She sat on a burgundy couch and looked around her quietly for a few minutes.

The two boys she had met on the train were sitting at a small table across the room. The messy redhead was teaching Harry Potter how to play wizard chess. While Hermione considered it a barbaric way to play chess, she would have liked to have been asked to join.

Neville Longbottom sat down on the couch next to her and as he did so, Trevvor hopped off of his shoulder and straight on to her book. She squealed and shot up. "You know, Neville, you should really control your toad!"

She looked back towards the two boys playing wizard chess; Harry Potter looked sympathetic but the nasty, freckled, Ronald Weasley was laughing at her. Her cheeks flushed hotly and grabbing her book she fled the common room heading to her only haven: the library.
