Magnus was upset. And 'upset' was not an emotion that Magnus Bane felt.
Magnus had cried. Magnus Bane never cries. Until three weeks ago, he didn't even believe he could cry! But man, could Magnus cry.
Magnus stayed awake at night. The bed was too big and too cold. When he wanted to wrrap his arms around his boyfriend at 2 o'clock in the morning like he used to, he had to remind himself that his boyfriend wasn't there. And Magnus had to bring an extra blanket to bed every night because there was no other body to warm his toes when they got cold in the middle of the night.
Sometimes, Magnus caught himself staring at the clock. Everyday, usually around five or six, he would look to the door. That was the time his boyfriend has always promised he would be home by when he lefft on secret Nephilem buisness. But nobody ever walked through the door.
Magnus put the blue cup to his lips and sipped the blue liquid. It was a Mundane drink, some kind of juice. It actually tasted fine.
Other people had started to notice Magnus' behavior.
His landlord, who called last week about rent (which was three weeks late. Magnus had never missed a payment.) had asked him what was wrong. Something about Magnus' voice had tipped him off, he had said.
~This is my line break... you all seemed to love it in my last Clace story... you're all really weird...~
Magnus dragged the blue blanket to the bedroom. He had an obssession with the colour blue. Recently, if it didn't come in blue, Magnus didn't want it. He loved blue.
Blue was the colour of the sky and the colour of clean water. It was the colour Magnus liked to paint his fingernails. It meant peace and tranquillity.
Blue was the colour of Alec's eyes. That was the only thing that mattered to Magnus.
He had loved looking into those blue eyes. They had changed in different lights, from dark blue to light blue to turquiose to perrywinkle and back to dark blue. They could make Magnus malt into his boyfriend's arms. They were the blue eyes that Magnus could spot in any crowd, in any city, on any day. Even today.
Magnus tucked himself in and wiped the traitor tears from his face.
~Let's pretend there is another line break right... here!~
Magnus had finally mustered up enough courage.
He picked it up, it's blue case sparkling.
His fingers shook as he tapped away at the screen. He held it to his ear and waited till the ringing stopped.
"Hey. It's Alec. You know what to do."
Magnus let his cell phone fall from his hand.
Sad. Very sad. Please please read and reveiw.
