Vampire Diaries (Damon/Elena)

"Life takes you to unexpected places,
Love brings you home."

It's been five years since Elena left Mystic Falls, tired of waiting for Damon to come home. Not having a goal in mind, Elena drove and drove. Using her gut instincts on finding a new place to live, she decided that this was the perfect place to start over with a new life.

Beaufort, North Carolina…

With all the historic architecture, the local cuisine, rich heritage, and especially a view with a nice beach, this was the best place to settle down and to get some inspiration to do the different things she had always wanted to do on her bucket list.

Elena breathed in the fresh air as she sat on the balcony of her beach house, gazing at the waves as it flows and pushes towards the shore. Looking down at her journal, she traced over the big E on the front leather cover. Inside were her experiences and thoughts about what she had gone through in reaching a brand new place. Some had contained pieces and pieces of her past memories… memories that she could never seem to forget and move on from.

Tired of drifting back into the memories of her past, she stood up and slammed her journal on her desk. Grabbing her keys, she locked her door and decided to go to a bookstore near by to clear her thoughts and hoping to replace them with fiction.

Looking up from the book she was reading, she glanced at the time and saw how late it was. Standing up from the soft chair, she went to go pay for the book so she could continue reading when she went home.

"Thank you, Deanna." She gave her a smile before walking outside to her car.

Walking down a few blocks, passing by a back alley, she felt a breeze. However, this breeze felt unusual… like it was from something or someone that was watching her.

Giving a quick glance back, she saw no one and thought it was just her nerves because it was dark and she was alone. Not taking any chances, she turned back around and walked a little faster towards her car, only a few more feet away.

Before she could take a few more steps, someone yanked her wrist and pulled her in the back alley. She opened her mouth, ready to let out a scream. The unknown man, or what she assumed to be a man, covered her mouth, turning her head to reveal his face.

Elena knew that face. She would never be able to forget that face.

Especially if that face had strikingly bold and ocean blue eyes.

With her mouth finally uncovered, she muttered the only name her brain could process at the moment, especially the name that had connected immediately with the blue eyes.

"Damon…"

Prompt number two is now complete! Sorry for the cliffhangers, those are actually my favorite parts when writing a story. I, who wrote the story, do not even know what would happen next. Though, I have to warn, I am the biggest fan of angst… So, I really do not know what would happen next.

This ends my author note and for me to think of the next story for prompt number three. This story would not end on a cliffhanger (I'm not that evil okay). I will try to continue the story, but in a different prompt. The evil part is when that would happen… I would not know.
