The Girl Who Knew

By: Trisket

Rating: PG-13 (language, and of course violence)

Hey! This is my first JtHM fic! I hope this turns out good. The chapters will be pretty short, but that'll make 'em come faster ^.^ Please rate! By the way, Lauren is my name, and this is how I picture myself when I'm in my twenties! I think it'd be cool to know Johnny. So pale, thin and scary, you just gotta love him! Oh yea, I don't own Jhonen's characters, and he doesn't own mine. There, happy? Well, here goes!

Johnny sauntered down the bus aisle. Finding a seat in the back, he sat down. Dried, brownish bloodstains blemished his dark clothing. Across from his seat was a young woman, in her early twenties, with a black dress on. Her hair was very plain, straight, brown and parted in the middle. She was sipping what looked like coffee, and writing on a notepad. Johnny realized he was staring at her, and he began to watch the dead rat under the bus seat. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the girl grin slightly.

"What's so funny, bitch?" he asked her viciously, trying to find something wrong with this lady. So he could kill her.

She didn't look up.

Johnny rose from the ripped bus bench, and leaned over the woman.

"I'm talking to you, you whore," he hissed, "what's so goddam FUNNY?" She still didn't look up, but replied, "Nothing's funny, Johnny." He drew back a few inches from her, a little startled. Resuming his angry expression, he growled in her face, "Who the fuck do you think you are?" Her eyes raised from her notepad to Johnny's. "I," she introduced, "am Lauren. Lauren Z."

Johnny sneered. This girl doesn't know who she's messing with, Johnny thought, I suppose I'll make it quick for her, due to her saddening stupidity.

Lauren stared at Johnny's pale face.

"You're famished," she observed, "want a BrainFreezy? There's a 24/7 at the next stop…"

"Listen, bitch, you don't know what you're doing, or who you're talking to. I suggest you start writing your will on that paper of yours," Johnny threatened, pointing to the legal pad. Lauren shrugged.

"Okay. Bye," she said, standing up. "Bye, Johnny. See you soon." She disappeared off the bus with one last haunting look. Johnny glared at her. He really had wanted a BrainFreezy, but he couldn't just accept stuff from…people. People like her.

People who knew.

It had occurred to him after she left that she knew about the things he did. It was obvious, really. She spoke to him without fear, which was the thing that bothered him most. Any other person would've cowered at such threats he had given. Lauren hadn't flinched.

And what the hell did she mean, "See you soon"? Johnny looked out the window, and remembering Lauren's haunting gaze, shivered.
