"Lily, for the twenty-third time, get a job."
Sorin stared down Liliana as she continued playing Clash Royale.
"Fly, my minion horde!"
"Get off your phone! You're being a fiscal parasite to you roomates."
Liliana looked up from her phone.
"Parasitism is kinda my style, Sorin."
"Regardless, I've scheduled some interviews for you later today at Petco, 7-11, and the local library. You're friends work there, so you already have a good word in for you, right?"
"Uh, suuure," Liliana replied unconvincingly. "Oh sweet! I got the night witch!"
"No."
"But I haven't even answered any questions yet, Ajani."
Liliana and Ajani sat in the office of a Petco.
"At least tell me why."
"Nobody in their right mind would let you have access to animals."
"Well, I suppose that would make sense after the last time I went here."
"Please never bring up the incident again."
The 7-11 yielded nothing either, after Gideon caught her cackling maniacally in the manager's swivel chair. The public library followed suit, as Jace refused to acknowledge her.
"I didn't want it to have to come to this, Lily," Sorin wearily explained. "As it seems to be impossible for you to get a job, I will give you a weekly allowance from the Markov inheritance."
"Works for me."
"What did you do to your roomates?"
"Better just not ask."
