Arthur looked at his manservant/sorcerer/warlock/best friend with a thoughtful expression.

"So, what you're saying is…magic is like a sword…" Arthur said slowly, feeling quite proud of himself. He'd finally looked past his prejudice towards magic and been the friend that Merlin deserved. Merlin looked incredibly insulted at this remark.

"Don't be ridiculous!" he exclaimed, throwing his arms in the air in an extravagant gesture that only Merlin could pull off. Arthur looked confused and a little affronted as his analogy was shot down.

"Magic is way better!" Merlin insisted, casting a derisory glance down at the sword on Arthur's belt. "Without magic that sword would be utterly boring. That sword was made with magic, and it was made so awesome it's got a name. I don't see you making magic with a sword!" Merlin scoffed, not noticing Arthur put his hand on the hilt of said sword with narrowed eyes glaring.

"Let's face it," Merlin continued. "Without magic your sword would be pretty use….less," the sorcerer trailed off as he stared at Arthur in complete and utter astonishment.

Arthur stood with a smug grin, his sword now rounded and emitting a strong bright blue light. He swung it around and the light sword made an impressive wob sound as it passed through the air. Merlin stood, gaping and dumbfounded.

"Huh, didn't see that one coming."
