Great. Another story. And another OC: Ariana North, daughter of Boreas and Greek legacy of Athena. Yes, she's like Frank. Live with it. Without any further rambling, the disclaimer: I don't own PJO, or HoO. If I did, Octavian didn't exist, and there would be no war between the Romans and Greeks.
Enjoy!
Tracked and found
The first thing other campers would tell you about Ariana North, was that she's a brilliant tracker. A lot of people counted on her when she needed to track someone or something down. It's the reason why Chiron and Annabeth entrusted her with the task of tracking Percy down. Annabeth also gave her 4 things to do if she found him:
1) Check on Percy's welfare; see if he didn't get himself killed yet;
2) Find out if Percy's memory has returned;
3) Report back in case he's not there yet;
4) Tell Annabeth about the location of the Roman camp (if Percy was there, otherwise, she didn't want to know).
The first few times she came to Camp Jupiter, she had no luck. And when she finally did see him, she had orders from Reyna to stay while he was away. A few days later, when he returned, Ariana had to lose him out of her sight again (thanks to a certain gaint that literally was messing with her patience). Now she just had to wait for her chance to really talk to him...
A crowd. That's all she saw with her sharp eye. A few Romans partying, a flustered Frank Zhang, a smiling Reyna, and so on, and so on. But Percy? Nowhere to be found. Ariana sat on top of one of the barricading walls around the camp. She loved it up here.
"Hey!"
Hazel's voice barely reached her, but on the other hand, it was really clear. Ariana met her golden gaze. "What's up?" she asked. Hazel looked around. "I heard you were looking for Percy."
Ariana shrugged. "So? What's it to you?"
"I just happen to know where he is."
And that was how she ended up in the Mars Fields. She'd only seen New Rome and Camp Jupiter (thanks to an eagle-eyed Octavian). Ariana had to admit; it was a beautiful and homesick sight. It reminded her so much of the fields surrounding the cabin she lived in for a little part of her life... She shook her head. Percy was laying on a nearby hill, watching the starry sky. She joined him.
"Hi."
"Hey."
"So..."
"How is she?"
"Huh?"
"Annabeth. How is she?"
"... You sure you want to know?"
Percy looked at her. "I need to know."
Ariana sighed. "I promised, or rather, swore not to tell you."
"Who made you?"
"Who do you think?"
The 2 friends fell in another silence. A few minutes passed when Percy spoke again.
"Thanks."
"For what?"
"For waiting. For being patient with me while I was gone."
"No prob, Perce. No problem at all."
Percy pushed himself up. "And..."
"Yes?"
"I know you'll find him again. Dean's bound to come back someday. He can't stay away without knowing you're safe."
Ariana rolled her eyes, grinning.
"Whatever you say, Weed Boy."
"Ice Queen."
"Fishhugger."
Both of them burst in a laughing fit. Ariana missed this. It was similar to how he would argue with Annabeth, only a bit lighter and more humorous. She finally had her friend back, and she wasn't going to let him out of her tracker's eye anytime soon.
And... Done! Phew... If you're confused about the cabin in this story; don't worry. I'm planning on writing a story about Ariana's past. But that will only happen if I get enough reviews. I'm not planning on adding a limit. Yet. That completely depends on you.
R&R!
