Twas the night
before Christmas, when all through the Smash House The Ice Climbers were
nestled all snug in their bed, When
out in the front lawn there arose such a clatter, The moon on the breast of the peed-on snow With a big fat driver, so lively and quick, "Now Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and
Vixen! As dry leaves that before the wild
hurricane fly, And then, in a
twinkling, I heard on the roof He was dressed all
in faux fur, from his head to his foot, His eyes, how they twinkled like warpstars! His
smile how merry! The stump of
a cigar he held tight in his teeth, He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf, He spoke not a word, but went straight to his
work, He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a
whistle,
Not a creature
was stirring, not even an electric mouse.
The socks were hung by
the chimney with not much care,
because the Lucas said, "If you
don't Santa won't be here."
While visions of super smashes
danced in their head.
And Peach in her nightgown, and Ness in his
red cap,
Had just settled their minds for a nice long nap.
Toon Link sprang
from his bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window he
flew like a flash,
Tore open the curtains and ripped off the
sash.
Gave the
luster of mid-day to stuff below.
When, what to his cat-like eyes
should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny
reindeer.
He
realized in a few minutes it was St Nick.
More rapid than Falco
his coursers they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called
them by name!
On, Comet! On, Cupid! on, on Donner and Blitzen!
To the
top of the porch! to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! Dash
away! Dash away all!"
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the
sky.
So up to the roof top the reindeer they flew,
With the
sleigh full of gifts, and the fat guy too.
The stomping and romping of each
big hoof.
As Link turned in his head, and was running around,
Down
the chimney St Nicholas came with a bound.
And his clothes were all
messed up with ashes and soot.
A bundle of toys he had flung on
his back,
And he looked like a door to door salesman, just opening
his pack.
His cheeks were like fire flowers, his nose like
a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And
the beard of his chin was as yellow as the snow.
And the smoke it encircled his
head like a wreath.
He had a broad face and an over weight
belly,
That shook when he laughed, like a bowlful of grape
jelly!
And
Link laughed when he saw him, in spite of himself.
A wink of his
eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave him to know he had nothing
to dread.
And filled all the socks, then turned with a jerk.
And
laying his finger inside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the
chimney he rose!
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But
Link heard him exclaim, as he drove out of sight,
"Happy
Hanukkah to all, and to all a good night!"
