The Land of the Moon

South of the great waves, North of the vast desert, East of the Jungle and West of the Mountians that burn, you find a lush savannah, with great herds, plenty of shade and all the water you could ever drink. While walking after getting seperated from my pride, then getting hopelessly lost, I am now weak and exhausted unknowingly I have wondered into The Land of the Moon. This Land is owned by the Moonlight Pride, led by an evil King so I have been told. I have been told many stories and legends about the Land of the Moon, as a young cub. My mother has told me countless stories about lions and lionesses who have wondered too far into the Land of the Moon, never to be seen or heard from again. So she warned me to never go there.

But here I am, but I had no choice and I am are far too tired to turn back, beside I don't even know the way back anyway. With the blazing heat from the bright circle, beating down on my back, my only thought is getting out of this blistering heat finding water and food then finding my way home before the Moonlight Pride notices I was trespassing. I see a small watering hole in the distance, surrounded by Acacia trees providing shade from the bright circle's rays. Even though I am very tired and my paws are hurting, with wobbly legs, I run as fast as I can to the crystal clear water. I stop only to sniff the surface, to make sure it is safe and not poisoned. Once satisfied, I lap up the refreshing liquid greedily. unaware I was being watched from the shadows.

I hear a noice behind me, I still as fear starts taking over my mind and body. I sniff the air once more, but don't smell anyting or anyone. I go over to investigate, only to be startled by a squealing warthog running from a thorn bush. I let out a sigh of relief and laigh at my foolishness. I am stillvery nervous and jumpy, but go back to the water's edgee to continue drinking. I have now quenched my thirst, I have decided to rest for a while before finding food. I walk to the base of an old Acacia tree, to get some sleep.

I wake just as the great circle was starting to set on the horizon. The heat has cooled, so it is easier to move around. Feeling refreshed from the water and sleep, I hear stomach grumble and gurgle. Taking this as my cue, I set off to hunt down some dinner. After a whole night of failed hunts, I come back just as the great circle dawned a new day with a decent sized antelope in my jaws.

Shortly after I started my now breakfast, I thought to myself,"I don't know what everyone back home is worried about, the Land of the Moon is not so bad." as I contiued eating. Suddenly my fur stands up on end as I hear several low growls come from the shadows. I look around but, I don't see anything.

Fear gripping my body again, I know I have out stayed my welcome, and I should get out of here quickly as the Moonlight Pride know I am here, they are not happy about it either, And what is worse they have found me, and watching my every move. I quickly finish my hard earn meal, then I bury the remains to cover my tracks. The rays of the bright circle has startef already to heat up the day. A soft breeze ruffles my fur, I pick up the scent of a lot of lions and lionesses. I hear a twig snap to my right. Without looking back, I run as fast as I can, I hear angry roars and paws running after me.
