A/N--Yes, I hate Dani Beck just as much as any red-blooded EO shipper. But she still is allegedly human, so I must treat her as such and not portray her as some Godzilla-monkey bitch. Oh, and reviews are delicious candy. D

"Olivia," he pleads, and this is ridiculous. It is getting them nowhere.
He kissed Dani Beck; it is an undeniable truth. Olivia never saw it, but she knows. She senses what happened between the two. She senses the betrayal.
Olivia shakes her head. No, I can't be with a partner who is not mine. You don't remember my every smile, curve, habit. You don't remember mine, because you've been too busy studying hers.
No, no, he says. I have no idea what she looks like, because every time I looked at her I saw you. I don't know her laugh; it became yours. When she smiled, all I saw was your warm eyes melting. I don't know her. It's always been you, Olivia. You are the only one I've memorized.
Reluctantly, she believes him, because it's true. He has always been her Eliot, and her life was not her life without him. They define each other. Perhaps even love each other.
And all this is said in one glance. They're still partners.
"Eliot." She forgives him.
Suddenly, they hug, enveloping each other once again. They hold it a little too long.
"Eliot?" says a new voice. It is Dani, come to gather her things from Olivia's desk.
"Ah, so this is Olivia," she says. With a glance, Dani knows what they share. She read it in his eyes before, and felt it in his kiss—I want Olivia back.
"Yeah," Eliot responds.
They stand too close to each other. Much closer than Dani and he ever did, even after the kiss.
"Hi," Olivia says politely. What she really means is, "Get your stuff off my fucking desk and go away."
Dani is barely jealous as she gathers the last of her things from the desk that is not hers. She knew for a long time that she what, or who, Eliot wants.
Dani approaches Eliot, plastic bin her arms to put some distance between them. This is partially because she wants the distance; partially because she knows Olivia will rip her head off if she gets too close.
"I'll see you," she states, and Eliot just nods. He is anxious to talk to his partner, and she won't keep him waiting.
Dani sighs as she walks out the door and towards the elevator. She wonders how long it will take for Eliot and Olivia to open their eyes and just do each other already.

"I missed you, Liv," he says, and it is so good to hear his voice speak her name
"I missed me too," she responds, and he grins. "But yeah, I guess I missed you."
This is more joyous than they expected. Things are returning to normal.
"That's good. Liv…are we okay?" Eliot asks.
"We're okay," she says thoughtfully. I'm just glad that bitch Dani is gone.
The captain calls them; there's another case on the table already. And no matter how crazy and gruesome it gets, they'll be together. The constant light in the other's darkness.
They'll be okay.
