Lt Matthew Casey stood in front of Firehouse 51 and looked along the road. His 24h shift was about to start and he enjoyed a cup of coffee and a moment of silence when something caught his attention. A red Chevrolet parked like a few miles away from the firehouse. It seemed that a young woman was sitting in the driver's side. He sighed.
"Again?"
"Um?" Lt. Kelly Severide hat just joined his side and made a confused face. "What did you say?"
"Oh nothing, but do you see the Red Chevrolet over there?"
"Yeah, what is the matter with the car?"
"He's following me since two weeks, along with the woman sitting in the car."
"Following you?"
"Yeah, it's driving along my street when I'm at home or appears ne the firehouse while I'm on shift. I see it when I do grocery shopping or the woman when I'm jogging."
"You must e kidding. It's possible just coincidence. "
"One or two times may be coincidence but I saw this car or the woman like 20 times the last two weeks. That's not coincidence anymore. And I want to know who she is or why she is following me."
"What about just asking? I mean she is right in front of you. It can't be that hard, could it?"
"You're right. I will do it." And with that Casey just walked towards the car. At that moment the woman started the engine and just drove off. Casey cursed loud.
"Damn. Kelly please I got to follow her, I got to get some answers. I got my radio with me, please cover me." He ran towards his car and started to follow the woman.
The red Chevrolet drove along some smaller streets and then on the highway. The woman seemed to drove really sharp and angry but not unsafe. It remembered him a bit of Cruz while driving Truck81. But all of a sudden she braked sharply and flipped the wheel to the right, parking the car on the breakdown lane. Casey wanted to let out a loud and dirty course about unsafe driving, about woman driving and about how to brake right when he saw why the woman had done it. A few miles away a bunch of cars had crushed together along with a huge road tanker. He heard people screaming and crying and he smelled burned tires and blood.
"Oh My God what a mess." He grabbed he radio. "Firehouse 51 this is Lt. Casey, we got a huge multiple crash at Highway 56 like 10 miles before gateway 4. I need backup an please inform control." "Time to get in action."
