Fill In My Emptiness

It was a long, dark and narrow alleyway. The stone brick buildings at the sides felt like hollow walls, ready to crush the two exorcists that were making their way inside, their boots making resounding echoes upon the cobblestone floor. Lenalee Lee, who was walking behind Allen Walker turned to look at her back in a protective stance when a loud clashing sound was heard a few yards from where they stood. Allen stopped on his tracks and turned to look at Lenalee with a worried expression written on his pale white face.
"Lenalee? What's wrong?" Allen walked closer to her as he readied his innocence.
Lenalee scanned the whole vicinity, ready to activate her innocence. She looked above her and only saw the midnight blue skies painted with glittering bright stars. It was a serene evening filled with silence and no Akuma sightings since she and Allen came into that place for a mission.
Allen smiled and reached over to Lenalee's right wrist. The black boots' master jerked upon feeling Allen's cold hand on her right wrist. Turning full view to stare at Allen's blue colored eyes, Lenalee's cheeks were filled with pink tints. She turned away so as to hide the embarrassment on her startled face.
"It was only a cat scavenging for food inside the garbage can." Allen brought out a melodious laugh.
Lenalee turned back again and saw a black colored cat pounce right out of the garbage can and away from their view. As the cat retreated from Lenalee's sight, she was completely caught off guard when Allen pulled her away, still locking his hand tightly around her right wrist.
"Umm, Allen-kun?"
"Yeah?"
"You can let go of my hand now." Lenalee said in a soft tone of voice as she refused to make her cheeks heat up again.
It was an unusual feeling for the young exorcist. Allen Walker has been her friend since the day he joined the black order and having any mutual feelings with him is beyond Lenalee's viewpoint. As Allen gently loosen his grip from her hand and eventually dropped her hand to her side, Lenalee felt something strange again.
She was longing for that cold hand on her skin again.
As Allen led their way to their destination, Lenalee's thought was still on Allen's hand on her wrist. The emotion she was feeling at that moment was strange and first to her. She never had any mutual feelings with anyone besides Komui of course. And as she stared at Allen's back, her thoughts of him became more vivid and with meaning.
Lenalee paused on her track and Allen immediately felt her stop behind him. Turning back to look at Lenalee once again, he was stunned to see her outstretched arm pointing towards him. Allen's face was unreadable as Lenalee's cheeks turned into a soft tint of red.
"Hold my hand, Allen-kun." Lenalee's words stunned Allen more, but he didn't refused the young woman's offer.
As Allen reached out for her hand and placed his palm on top of hers, Lenalee turned up to look at him and a smile was immediately painted on her porcelain-like face. For a moment, Allen felt at ease with her smile. As for Lenalee, the emptiness she felt a while ago was returned back to her.
"Your hand, it's cold. But I like it." Lenalee flashed out a brighter smile, this time sweeter and with a meaning.
Allen was confused but didn't even bother to ask. Because for him, holding Lenalee's hand made him assure that his secret feelings for Lenalee is soon paying off.
