A Rose

[A/N at the end]

She looked out over the crowd, took a deep breath and said, "What happened to Mallory Klein on the second of April was a disgusting act of violence against women, and it is time for us to stand together and fight for our right to be safe. What Blaise Zabini did was horrendous, and he needs to be held accountable for his actions, not just against Mallory but against the tens of women who have made accusations against him. Drugging women with Amortentia doesn't equal consent."

There were proclamations of agreement from the crowd of women and men in front of her as she stepped away from the podium; Rosanna Lynch shook her hand, walked towards the podium, and shuffled her papers as she prepared to do her speech.

Hermione had never expected such a large crowd of people to show up, she had only sent letters to a handful of people, and instead of four women coming to the rally, hundreds had shown up to the Three Broomsticks. Somehow, the media had caught wind of it and a few reporters that she recognised from different newspapers and magazines surrounded her, asking for an interview or statement, as she walked towards her family.

She ignored everyone around her until she saw an army of ginger haired people varying in height and shape. The tallest and lankiest, her husband, turned around and a magnificent grin stretched across his face as he made eye contact with her. In his arms, a ginger ringlet haired baby was drooling against his purple shirt and fiddling with the bottle green pin on his chest.

Truth be told, the reason she was so passionate about seeing Zabini in Azkaban was in Ron's arms. Since giving birth to Rose, the world had shifted and the dangers that she had never considered an issue were now. Even though she had faced discrimination and violence in her lifetime, it didn't mean that her little Rose had to as well.

Of course Mallory deserved justice, Hermione would never stop until she got it; she'd become a constant in her professional life, and since that eventful night, Mallory had lost her vivacity.

But her daughter, deserved to grow up in a society that was safe from the Blaise Zabini's of the world. Where people like him were punished for their crimes and where women came together to support one another instead of tearing each other down.

"Amortentia doesn't equal consent should be on a t-shirt," Ron suggested while he handed Rose to Hermione.

He slung an arm around her shoulder as Rose rested her little head against her chest. Women and men whispered their congratulations to her, but nothing mattered at that moment than her family as she listened to Rosanna making her speech. She would do anything for her family, and if that meant putting a fiend in Azkaban to make the world a little safer for her daughter, she would fight tooth and nail to do it.
