AN: hey guys!! This is my first time writing anything on fan fiction, so I don't really know what I'm doing yet. So PLEASE review this and let me know what you guys think! Thanks so incredibly much!!

Harry sat on his bed staring out his window. He couldn't remember how long he had been there, staring. Ever since his Sirius had died, that seemed like that was all he had the energy to do. All hope of getting out of this hell-hole was lost. All hope of survival of the summer was lost. He had nothing left. Only one thing kept him going. That was the thought of summer was almost over and he was finally going home. Home to Hogwarts. Harry could hardly wait to see his friends, to play Quiditch again (thank god that he was back on the team) and to see Ginny again. Wait, what was he thinking? He didn't like Ginny. As a friend, maybe, but nothing more than that. His thoughts were interrupted by the boisterous voice of his uncle. "POTTER!! GET DOWN HERE BOY!!"
Harry picked up his feet and dragged himself downstairs. "POTTER!-" his uncle started. "I'm right here." "Took you long enough."
What was it this time? Harry thought.
Harry listened to his uncle blabber on on how he didn't get down to the kitchen fast enough and how he was always in his own little world, and only thought of himself. After living with the Dursleys for his whole life, he had gotten used to the fact that he would never live up to their standards of living. Even if Harry turned them all in to filthy pigs.
After what seemed to be a life time, his uncle decided that a weeks grounding would be a proper punishment for Harry's behavior. Harry sighed and dragged himself up the stairs and plopped back down on his bed. He got back into staring mode again.

*****

Harry shot up from his bed, head drenched in sweat.
"A dream, it was only a dream" Harry convinced himself.
Somehow it felt much more than a dream to him, but that was how all of his dreams were feeling lately. He looked at the clock on his nightstand. 4:24, the sun would be rising soon. Harry decided not to try to fall back asleep, it wasn't worth the effort. Harry had dreamed of that day when he had lost Sirius. The image of him slipping under the curtain kept playing over and over in his mind. Harry had been haunted with that image for the past three months. And it seemed as though he couldn't close his eyes anymore with out seeing Sirius's face.
Only 9 more days. Harry told himself. He had been counting down the days until he got to go back home since a week before the end of the year ceremonies. That seemed to be forever ago and he couldn't wait until he finally didn't have to count anymore. Pretty soon he would be out of here, pretty soon he would be living with Sirius. Wait, no that isn't going to happen. Ever. Harry sunk back into his bed and let reality set in.

AN: so what do you think? I had a bit of writers block and didn't know what to say (obviously) so yah- please review so I know what to do for my next chapter. Sorry it was so short, I didn't know what to say, but you already know that. I'm shutting up now because you are probably bored with me by this point.
